Experience: 20+ years (5+ years handling agency channels at state/cluster level)
Eligibility: Candidates with experience in insurance or financial services; must have graduation (post-graduation in business management preferred)
Job Purpose
The Regional Manager will drive business and channel performance in the assigned region. The role includes achieving targets related to persistency, premium renewal, protection business, new business, mis-selling complaint ratios, minimizing attrition, and team development. The manager will also ensure optimal LM Team size, LM activation, and LM Club membership.
Key Responsibilities
1. Managerial Responsibilities
- Recruit staff as per approved manpower plan
- Manage performance, provide coaching, and counsel team members
- Ensure engagement and retention of talent
2. Functional Responsibilities
Team Management
- Lead and manage a high-performing team to achieve business targets
- Foster a collaborative and motivated team culture
- Support continuous skill development of team members
- Oversee development and confirmation of new LMs and DMs
- Minimize DM group attrition through effective team management
Performance & Process Improvement
- Develop and implement strategic plans to enhance business performance
- Identify and drive process improvements in sales and distribution
- Achieve targets for branches meeting NB budgets and high ratings
- Implement recruitment and training programs for team development
Day-to-Day Operations
- Ensure adherence to budget targets for persistency, premium renewal, protection business, and new business
- Minimize mis-selling complaints and DM attrition
- Ensure active LM, LM Club members, and minimum business guarantees per DM
Stakeholder Relations
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders (operations, sales strategy, sales training)
- Address concerns and maintain effective communication channels
- Build and maintain strong relationships with DMs and LMs
Job Requirements
Qualification
- Graduation (mandatory)
- Post-Graduation in Business Management or equivalent (preferred)
Experience
- 20+ years of relevant experience
- Minimum 5 years in agency channel management at state/cluster level
- Experience in regulated industries (insurance or financial services preferred)
Skills
- Knowledge of insurance fundamentals, products, and processes
- Understanding of operating procedures and business development in insurance
- Awareness of regulatory framework in insurance
