The Quality Engineering Consultant is responsible for leading the testing activities within CIBCs ET Quality Engineering team This role ensures that client needs are met with the highest quality standards by overseeing all aspects of the testing process, including the design, development, and maintenance of automated test scripts The incumbent coordinates end-to-end testing, drives continuous improvement, and ensures testing processes comply with organizational and regulatory requirements The role works closely with project managers, developers, quality engineers, and business stakeholders to deliver high-quality technology solutions

How Youll Succeed (responsibilities):
Testing Expertise:
- Lead investigation and translation of business and technical requirements into comprehensive test cases.
- Design, manage, and execute end-to-end testing activities for various projects, ensuring alignment with project timelines and quality standards.
- Develop and maintain detailed test plans, schedules, and resource allocations.
- Develop, execute, and maintain automated test cases and test suites using automation tools.
- Track, report, and manage defects throughout the testing lifecycle, ensuring prompt resolution.
- Prepare and present regular status reports, test metrics, and risk assessments to project leadership.
- Ensure all testing activities comply with organizational policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
Automation Expertise:
- Design and implement automation strategies, tools, and frameworks to enhance testing efficiency and effectiveness.
- Integrate automated testing scripts and strategies with DevOps tools.
Leadership Skills:
- Coach and mentor testing team members in business domain, functional testing, automation, and non-functional testing.
- Ensure compliance with CIBCs test methodologies and industry best practices.
- Proactively identify potential issues throughout all test phases and suggest improvements.
- Identify opportunities to enhance testing processes, tools, and methodologies.
Project Coordination:
- Coordinate internal and external testing teams to ensure timely completion of test phases.
- Identify and communicate obstacles or risks that may impact project timelines or success.
- Maintain open communication with stakeholders and escalate issues when necessary.
- Ensure test deliverables are received, approved, and aligned to project goals and budget.
CROSS-FUNCTIONAL RELATIONSHIPS:
- Collaborates with business stakeholders and technology partners to define and execute testing strategies.
- Serves as the primary point of contact for all testing-related communications among project stakeholders.
- Coordinates with project managers, developers, and external vendors to ensure timely completion of testing phases and alignment with project objectives.

JOB DIMENSIONS:
- Directly coordinates testing activities across multiple projects and teams within the Core Banking and Payments Technology function.
- Oversees testing deliverables for internal staff and external vendors.
- Responsible for ensuring alignment of testing activities with project timelines, budgets, and overall business objectives.
Experience: 7 years of experience
Who You Are (skills/qualifications):
Must Have Skills:
- 7 years’ experience, proven 5+ years of experience in Test Coordination and Automation roles.
- Working knowledge of cloud/Azure environment (eg Databricks).
- Strong working experience on RDBMS (STM, ETL).
- Strong understanding of Testing Life Cycle, SDLC, and Defect Management processes for application testing and support.
- Good working knowledge of QE processes and standards.
- Ability to build and maintain automated testing scripts and integrate with DevOps tools.
- Strong investigative and analytical skills for solving complex problems.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Effective communication skills, able to convey technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
- Strong leadership, coaching, and mentorship abilities.
- Collaborative approach, building trusted relationships with stakeholders.
- Commitment to continuous learning and staying current with emerging technologies and industry developments.
Good to have Skills:
- Hands-on experience with test automation tools (eg, Tosca DI, Selenium, Robot Framework, Parasoft SOAtest, Postman, Rest Assured, Cucumber).
- Preferred experience with Python, Java, and SQL databases.
- Experience with test management tools (eg, JIRA, OpenText AQM).
