MISSION:
Drive the successful development and delivery of high-value products through expert leadership, deep domain knowledge, and a strong commitment to Agile and Lean-Agile principles. This role leverages advanced expertise in product development, product delivery, product management, and user-focused techniques such as Story Mapping and User Journeys to guide teams toward meaningful outcomes.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Requires expert knowledge and experience in own discipline (Product Development, Product Delivery, Product Management, Story Mapping/User Journeys).
• Has broad knowledge of other disciplines.
• Expert in mentoring and coaching methods and techniques, focused on Product Owner team member outcomes and growth.
• Expert knowledge of Agile and Lean-Agile values and principles.
• Closely collaborates with the Product Manager to understand and prioritize development projects against available team capacity.
• May participate in scrum team and Product Management ceremonies, including Story Mapping reviewed, refinement, sprint demoes, etc.
• Extensive knowledge of company policies (security, compliance, SDLC and other).
• Fluent in continuous improvement methods and techniques.
• Manages direct reports (Product Owner team member), including formal supervisory responsibilities, performance monitoring and accountability, authority for personnel actions.
• This position will also have their own scrum team and individual contributor responsibilities.
• Develops and coaches teams members, including career pathing, professional development in Product Development discipline, and advisement of company policies.
• Sets priorities and advises team members on expectations.
• Ensures project/department milestones/goals are met and adheres to approved budgets.
• Partners closely with peer managers to promote cross-functional collaboration within scrum team and Agile values and principles.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
• Bachelors degree or equivalent studies
• 15+ relevant years of exp in PO field ROLE-BASED COMPETENCIES
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and a willingness to ask questions and challenge the status quo
• A passion for healthcare, financial services, behavioral economics, consumerism and/or any combination of these disciplines
• Minimum 5 years of people management experience (4+team size)
• Natural leadership skills
