Role Senior Quality Engineer
Job Description
Position Summary:
Marriott International is hiring a Senior Quality Assurance Engineer to champion quality excellence across its global digital ecosystemincluding Marriott Bonvoy, reservations, mobile and web guest experiences, payment platforms, and AI-driven personalization and fraud prevention services.
In this role, you will lead automation-first and AI-enabled quality engineering practices to deliver secure, reliable, and seamless guest experiences at scale. Youll work closely with Product, Engineering, Data, Security, and Operations teams to ensure end-to-end quality. The position emphasizes validating both front-end browser interactions and API integrations within Marriotts web and App ecosystem. You will collaborate with cross-functional digital teams to deliver high-quality releases using tools and technologies such as Appium, Selenium, Playwright, BrowserStack, REST, GraphQL, and modern CI/CD pipelines.
Job Specific Tasks:
- 4+ years of experience in QE.
- Define, implement, and evolve comprehensive testing strategies spanning functional, non-functional, performance, security, accessibility, and data/ML validation.
- Leverage AI-augmented testing techniques such as model-based testing, autonomous test generation, flaky test detection, and predictive risk analysis
- Apply AI-assisted testing for test generation, risk prioritization, and test data creation.
- Validate AI/ML systems for accuracy, fairness, explainability, and performance drift
- Test LLM-powered tools for data privacy, safety, and hallucination prevention
- Generate test cases from requirements and user journeys
- Mentor QA engineers and promote SDET and AI-enabled testing practices.
- Improve automation reporting, test data management, and environment readiness.
- Own release readiness and provide quality metrics to stakeholders.
- Deepunderstanding of all quality assurance processes,Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), and practical use of Jira, Confluence, Zephyr & Service Now applicationtools.
- Skilled in functional, content, visual, accessibility, and cross-platform/browser/device testing(Desktop Web, Mobile WEB, and Native App),includingservicelayer &backend.
- Strong working knowledge of Mobile app-related tools like Charles Proxy, Source Tree Xcode, Android Studio, Visor/QuickTime, and Soup UI.
- Proficient knowledge of Cursor, Copilot and other AI Tools
- Detect flaky tests and prioritize high risk scenarios
- Create compliant synthetic test data
- Develop automated tests using Appium, Selenium, Cursor, and Playwright.
- Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines.
- Design, build, and maintain scalable automation frameworks for web, mobile, APIs, microservices, and data pipelines.
- Ensure automation assets are reusable, stable, and CI/CD ready.
- Work with developers, product owners, and engineering leads to ensure testability, acceptance criteria alignment, and quality coverage.
- Own release quality and readiness, ensuring reliability and compliance across digital channel deployments.
- Diagnose defects through detailed root cause analysis and collaborate with engineering to validate resolutions.
- Implement visual validation, accessibility checks, and regression automation to reduce manual testing load.
- Drive shift left quality engineering practices and mentor teams on best testing approaches.
- Embed with product and engineering teams to define acceptance criteria and testability.
- Lead test design reviews, exploratory testing, and risk based testing
- Contribute to Marriotts Quality Engineering COE standards and reusable testing accelerators.
- Oversee QA/QE activities across platforms including web, mobile, API, backend, accessibility, analytics, and devices.
- Champion accessibility and inclusive design.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in computer science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
- 5+ years of industry experience in test automation focusing on APPand web applications.
- Hands-on expertise in:
- Appium
- Selenium WebDriver
- Playwright
- BrowserStack or equivalent cloud testing platforms
- REST API testing (Postman, REST Assured, etc.)
- GraphQL API testing, including schema and resolver validation
- Apollo Studio
- Cursor
- Strong programming skills in Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, or Python.
- Experience integrating automated tests with CI/CD pipelines.
- Advanced debugging and problem-solving skills.
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
Education and Certifications:
- Graduate degree in Computer Science or Engineering
