Job Description
THE POSITION:
The Lead, Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) is responsible for leading and managing the company’s EDI operations. This role will oversee all aspects of EDI transactions, including implementation, integration, maintenance, and troubleshooting for our 3PL distribution, Order To Cash and Revenue Management business unit(s). They will also help to develop new systems for clients, analyze requirements, produce mapping documents, test systems, and establish communication with trading partners. The Lead EDI Analyst will also act as a subject matter expert on EDI standards and best practices and consistent/repeatable processes within the EDI ecosystem.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities

- Lead and manage all aspects of the company’s EDI operations, including implementation, integration, maintenance, troubleshooting and migration as necessary.
- Develop and maintain EDI maps and trading partner relationships.
- Oversee monitoring of and resolution of EDI transaction errors and exceptions.
- Analyze EDI data to identify and resolve issues and improve efficiency.
- Provide technical support to internal and external customers on EDI-related matters.
- Stay current on EDI standards and best practices.
- Develop and implement EDI training programs for internal and external customers.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful EDI implementation and integration.
- Participate in the evaluation and selection of EDI software and services.
- Develop and maintain EDI documentation and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant EDI standards and regulations.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex EDI issues.
- Proactively identify and implement process improvements to enhance EDI efficiency and accuracy.
- Provide leadership and guidance to junior EDI analysts.
- Demonstrate a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion through continuous development, modeling inclusive behaviors, and proactively managing bias.

Minimum Knowledge, Skills And Abilities
The requirements listed below are representative of the experience, education, knowledge, skill and/or abilities required.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
- A minimum of 10+ years of progressive experience in B2B integration and EDI, with at least 5 years in an Architect, Technical Lead, or equivalent senior design role.
- Good understanding of IBM Sterling B2BI.
- Design and implement complex, optimized BPML (Business Process Modeling Language) for enterprise-level workflows
- Expertise in creating and maintaining, EDI maps using the Sterling Map Editor
- Platform Management: ability to install, configure, manage, and tune multi-node B2BI instances across various operating systems (Unix/Linux and Windows)
- Strong knowledge of compatibility matrices between different database versions, operating systems, and B2BI releases.
- Expert-level understanding of the underlying B2BI database structure and data models.
- Strong understanding of EDI standards (e.g., X12, EDIFACT).
- Knowledge of VANs (Value Added Networks) and EDI communication protocols.
- Proven track record of providing Level 3 technical leadership for critical production issues and mentoring junior EDI developers and analysts.
- Working knowledge of modern DevOps practices, containerization (Docker/Kubernetes), and public cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, GCP)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
