Civil Design Engineer

Role Summary:

Lead the review and approval of civil and structural design & engineering documents prepared by the EPC contractor, in coordination with the Owner’s Engineer (OE), ensuring compliance with contract, codes, safety, constructability, and long-term operability.

Key Responsibilities:

• Review EPC civil & structural design documents, drawings, and calculations
• Ensure compliance with contract specs, international & local codes
• Review civil works for:
• GT, HRSG, ST foundations and buildings
• Cooling water system, pump houses, tanks, and plant buildings
• 225 kV switchyard foundations, trenches, gantries & control buildings
• 225 kV transmission line tower foundations & access roads
• Coordinate civil interfaces with electrical and mechanical systems
• Participate in design reviews with EPC & Owner’s Engineer
• Identify technical risks (settlement, vibration, drainage, constructability)
• Review technical queries, deviations, and value engineering proposals
• Provide technical support during construction, as required

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering (Master’s preferred)
• Chartered Engineer / PE preferred

Experience:

• 15+ years total civil/structural experience
• 8+ years in power plant projects (CCPP / thermal)
• Proven experience with:
• GT / ST dynamic foundations
• Cooling water systems
• 225 kV or higher voltage switchyards
• High-voltage transmission line foundations
• Experience on Owner / OE / PMC side preferred

Skills:

• RCC & structural steel design review
• Geotechnical and foundation engineering
• Strong coordination with EPC & multi-discipline teams
• Familiar with international design codes and grid requirements
