BIW Robot Simulation Engineer
Experience: 3 – 6 Years
Department: Engineering / Digital Manufacturing

Key Responsibilities / Major Deliverables
- Build and develop robotic simulation cells for BIW welding lines
- Perform reachability and feasibility studies for robotic operations
- Conduct BIW tooling validation within simulation environments
- Define and optimize:
- Weld distribution
- Weld gun selection & gun sectioning
- Prepare and analyze cycle time charts for process optimization
- Create plant layouts based on simulation cells
- Perform offline robot programming (OLP)
- Configure and integrate RCS (Robot Control System) with simulation tools (RRS standards)
- Generate robot program downloads for shopfloor implementation
- Validate processes in workcells and production stations
- Ensure quality checks and compliance as per defined standards
- Participate in technical reviews with customers
- Prepare and maintain customer-required documentation
- Drive knowledge sharing and internal documentation
Technical Skills Required
- Strong hands-on experience in robot simulation and BIW processes
- Good understanding of:
- Pre-engineering activities
- Layout planning
- Cycle time optimization
- Knowledge of robotic welding processes (Spot Welding / Arc Welding)

- Robcad
- Delmia V5
- Process Simulate (Tecnomatix)
- RCS Configuration:
- FANUC
- KUKA
- ABB
- MicroStation
Preferred Skills
- Experience working with global OEMs such as Mercedes-Benz Research and Development India (MBRDI) and other international automotive clients
- Exposure to multiple simulation platforms
- Strong understanding of BIW production systems and automation lines
Soft Skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Good communication and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to work in cross-functional and global teams
- Detail-oriented with focus on quality and accuracy
Education
