Job Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced Principal Solution Architect – Network & Cybersecurity to lead the design, implementation, and governance of enterprise network infrastructure and security architecture. This role requires deep technical expertise combined with strategic leadership to ensure scalable, secure, and high-performing network environments aligned with business objectives.

The ideal candidate will possess strong experience in network architecture, cybersecurity frameworks, and emerging technologies, along with the ability to influence stakeholders and drive enterprise-wide initiatives.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Network Architecture & Engineering

Lead the design, implementation, and optimization of enterprise network architecture to ensure high performance, scalability, and availability. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and translate them into effective technical solutions. Oversee deployment, configuration, and lifecycle management of network devices, including routers, switches, and wireless access points. Maintain accurate network documentation, architecture diagrams, and asset inventory.

Cybersecurity & Risk Management

Develop and enforce cybersecurity policies, standards, and procedures to safeguard organizational assets. Lead the implementation and management of security technologies such as firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPNs, and endpoint protection. Conduct regular security assessments, vulnerability scans, and penetration testing to identify risks. Drive incident response activities, ensuring rapid containment, mitigation, and recovery from security threats.

Strategy & Leadership

Define and drive strategic initiatives for network and cybersecurity aligned with business objectives. Evaluate and recommend emerging technologies to strengthen security posture and improve network performance. Effectively communicate complex technical concepts to business stakeholders in a clear and actionable manner. Partner with business units to align IT strategies with organizational goals.

Governance, Reporting & Project Management

Provide regular updates to senior leadership on network performance, risks, and improvement initiatives. Manage budgets and ensure efficient resource utilization for network and cybersecurity programs. Track project timelines, costs, and deliverables to ensure successful execution. Lead and mentor technical teams, fostering innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Education

  • Bachelor/Master’s degree with at least 10+ years of experience in the infrastructure domain with at-least 8+ years’ years of experience in network engineering and cybersecurity roles, with proven expertise in network design, configuration, and security implementation.

  • Proven track record in implementing and maintaining effective security controls.
  • Strong knowledge of IT security principles, standards, and best practices.
  • Experience managing security incidents and implementing security controls.
  • Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop teams.
  • Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or ITIL are desirable.

    • Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Proven experience (8+ years) in network engineering and cybersecurity roles, with a strong background in network design, implementation, and administration.
  • Solid understanding of cybersecurity principles, including encryption, authentication, intrusion detection, and vulnerability assessment.
  • Experience with firewall technologies, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and security information and event management (SIEM) solutions.
  • Relevant certifications such as CCNP, CCIE, CISSP, CISM, or other industry-recognized certifications.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and guide technical professionals.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Analytical mindset with problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions under pressure.
  • Experience in project management and a proven track record of successfully delivering network and cybersecurity projects on time and within budget.

    • Additional Requirements

  • Strong understanding of enterprise architecture frameworks (e.g., TOGAF) and security frameworks (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001, Zero Trust).
  • Experience with cloud networking and security (AWS, Azure, GCP), including hybrid and multi-cloud environments.
  • Hands-on experience with automation and orchestration tools (e.g., Ansible, Terraform, Python scripting).
  • Familiarity with DevSecOps practices and integrating security into CI/CD pipelines.
  • Knowledge of SASE (Secure Access Service Edge), ZTNA (Zero Trust Network Access), and modern security architectures.
  • Experience in compliance and regulatory requirements (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, SOX – depending on industry).
  • Strong vendor management and evaluation experience (e.g., Cisco, Palo Alto, Fortinet, Check Point).
  • Ability to drive digital transformation initiatives in networking and cybersecurity.
  • Experience with network monitoring and observability tools (e.g.,, ThousandEyes, Splunk).
  • Proven ability to define and track KPIs, SLAs, and security metrics.

  • Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) – Required/Preferred
  • Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE) – Highly Preferred
  • Juniper Networks Certified Professional (JNCIP) – Optional

  • Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) – Highly Preferred
  • Certified Information Security Manager (CISM) – Preferred
  • Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) – Optional
  • GIAC Security Certifications (GSEC, GCIH, GCIA) – Optional

    • Travel Requirements

    5%: Up to 13 business days per year

    Physical Requirements

    Sedentary-Exerting up to 10lbs/4kgs of force occasionally, and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time.
