Role Title: National Retail Head
Location: Gurugram, Full Time, six days working
At Anveshan, we are looking for an experienced and growth-oriented National Retail Head to lead and scale our offline retail business across India. This role will be instrumental in driving retail expansion, strengthening market presence, building high-performing teams, and ensuring sustainable growth across General Trade, Modern Trade, and key offline channels.
The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in offline retail strategy, channel development, distributor management, retail execution, and business expansion, along with the ability to drive revenue and profitability at a national level.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Lead the national offline retail business and drive revenue growth across key markets and channels.
- Develop and execute a strategic retail growth plan to strengthen Anveshan’s presence
- Build, manage, and expand relationships with distributors, super stockists, retailers, and modern trade partners.
- Lead market expansion initiatives across geographies and retail formats.
- Drive sales planning, target setting, and performance management for regional and city-level retail teams.
- Ensure strong secondary sales movement, retail visibility, merchandising, and in-store execution across channels.
- Monitor and improve sell-in and sell-out performance, product placement, and retail productivity.
- Own and manage offline retail P&L, budgeting, forecasting, and cashflow planning for the function.
- Track and report region-wise / city-wise sales performance, market trends, competitive activity, and business insights to management.
- Collaborate closely with supply chain, operations, marketing, and category teams to ensure smooth execution of retail plans.
- Lead the recruitment, training, coaching, and performance development of the offline retail team.
- Ensure high standards of channel discipline, market coverage, retail execution, and distributor health.
- Build a strong offline distribution network aligned with Anveshan’s long-term growth vision.
Skills and Qualifications
- Proven experience in leading offline retail / general trade / modern trade sales at a national or large regional level.
- Strong understanding of retail distribution, channel sales, market expansion, and offline business operations.
- Demonstrated ability to drive sales growth, market penetration, and retail execution excellence.
- Strong financial and commercial acumen with hands-on experience in managing P&L, budgets, and cashflows.
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to build, mentor, and manage large cross-functional and field teams.
- Strong negotiation and relationship management skills with distributors, channel partners, and key accounts.
- Deep understanding of FMCG / Food / D2C-led offline retail ecosystem is preferred.
- Strong analytical, reporting, and decision-making capabilities.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Proficiency in MS Excel, reporting tools, and basic business/accounting systems.
Preferred Experience:
- Experience in scaling consumer brands / FMCG / food brands in the offline retail space.
- Exposure to General Trade, Modern Trade, and premium retail channels.
- Experience in handling national retail expansion and multi-city distribution networks.
