About the Role
The Senior Civil/Structural/Architectural (CSA) Engineer will be expected to support the lead CSA engineer in the Pune office for different projects and carry out design calculations, finite element modeling and stress analysis, retaining structures design, foundation design, compressor foundation design with dynamic forces, pile foundation design, steel connection design, and building/structural code compliance. The employee will also be accountable for completing tasks within a given time frame.
Responsibilities
- Execute the design, analysis, evaluation and technical documentation for assigned projects using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product/program requirements.
- Work activities include collection and interpretation of engineering data, development of project design basis, development of specifications, and performance of detailed engineering. Engineering reports are often a work product associated with performing calculations and modeling.
- Ensure conformance to applicable engineering codes, and standards, company policies and procedures.
- Ability to interpret and set the design requirements per applicable codes, including IBC, ASCE, AISC, ACI, PIP, AWS, NFPA, etc.
- Seismic design of steel and concrete structures including seismic steel connection design.
- Work on simple and complex structural design of foundations, retaining structures, and steel structures. Foundation design includes horizontal and vertical vessels, pump, cooling tower, compressor foundation design with dynamic forces, combined mat foundations and deep foundations with experience using auger cast-in-place piles, driven precast concrete piles, pipe piles, and helical piles.
- Experience in cast-in-place anchors and Hilti post-installed anchors.
- Perform detailed technical analysis of complex project issues.
- Provide technical leadership to personnel supporting the assigned project.
- Provide engineering sketches and guidance for the design/drafting team to generate civil and structural drawings and 3D models.
- Ability to design and retrofit existing steel and concrete structures.
- Provide timely communications on significant issues or developments.
- Participate in the development of proposals for projects.
- Collaborate with colleagues to improve engineering designs, review work products, and manage assignments.
- Protect the intellectual property rights of the company.
- Knowledge of RISA 3D is a plus since using this software will be required.
- Knowledge of PCAMats, MAT 3D, Foundation 3D, RISAFoundation or other similar foundation analysis software is desirable.
- Checker for steel and concrete design for engineers and designers.
- Carry out tasks at the direction of the lead CSA engineer in the Pune office or the CSA manager in the absence of the lead CSA engineer.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in civil or structural engineering from an accredited college or university.
- Professional Engineer registration in India is preferred.
- Minimum 12 years engineering experience in industrial oil & gas, petrochemical or refinery facilities.
- Candidate with strong industrial concrete design experience is preferred.
