Apply for the Hardware Design Engineer

Job Description:

At antimattr, we’re building intelligent computing systems that don’t just process information – they understand it. We’re looking for a Hardware Design Engineer to own our hardware end to end. This is a founding-level role, not a support function.

The role

You will own the full hardware stack – architecture, schematics, PCB layout, BOM, bring-up, and production handoff. You’ll work directly with leadership and make the core engineering decisions that become the foundation of our products.

What you’ll own

System architecture – block diagrams, subsystem partitioning, power domains, clock trees

Circuit & PCB design – schematic capture, multi-layer layout, signal integrity, EMC/EMI

BOM – component sourcing, alternate qualification, cost optimization, supply chain risk

Bring-up & validation – board debug, functional testing, thermal and stress validation

Firmware collaboration – HW/SW interface definition, pin assignments, debug interfaces

Prototype to production – EVT → DVT → PVT, DFM reviews, CM coordination

Documentation – design specs, test reports, change logs

What we’re looking for

✅ 3+ years shipping real hardware (consumer electronics, embedded systems, IoT, or compute)

✅ EDA proficiency – Altium, KiCad, Cadence, or equivalent

✅ Interfaces – UART, SPI, I2C, USB, MIPI, DDR, PCIe, Ethernet

✅ Power electronics – DC-DC, LDOs, battery management, USB-PD, multi-rail sequencing

✅ SoC/MCU bring-up – ARM Cortex-M or application-class processors, JTAG/SWD, bootloaders

✅ BOM & sourcing – Octopart, DigiKey, Mouser, lifecycle and availability analysis

Bonus points for FPGA/HDL · RF & antenna design · High-speed PCB · DFM/DFT · Regulatory compliance (CE, FCC, BIS) · Prior founding-team experience

Why antimattr

You’ll be among the first hardware engineers here. Outsized ownership, early-stage equity, and the chance to define how we build – from the first prototype to scaled production.
