About the Department
Invest India is the National Investment Promotion and Facilitation Agency under the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India. Invest India works closely with central ministries, state governments, industry bodies, and private sector stakeholders to promote, facilitate, and accelerate investments across priority sectors of the Indian economy.
Key Responsibilities
The incumbent will be part of a Sector Team responsible for executing investment promotion, facilitation, and policy advocacy strategies for assigned sectors. The role involves close coordination with internal teams, central ministries, state governments, regulators, industry associations, and private sector stakeholders to enable investments and improve ease of doing business outcomes
Strategy Execution & Sector Support
- Work closely with the Team Lead to support execution of sector strategies, programs, and priority projects.
- Contribute to planning and delivery of sector-specific initiatives aligned with Invest India’s investment promotion objectives.
Research, Knowledge Management & Analysis
- Establish and maintain a structured repository tracking sector developments, including:
- Investment trends and emerging opportunities
- Policy and regulatory changes at central and state levels
- Key sector initiatives, schemes, and global best practices
- Conduct sector research and analysis to support investment pitches, policy inputs, and strategic recommendations.
Investment Promotion & Facilitation
- Support preparation of high-quality deliverables such as:
- Sectoral reports and research notes
- Investor pitch presentations
- Detailed Project Reports (DPRs)
- Policy briefs and briefing notes for internal and external stakeholders
- Assist in facilitating investor engagements, project discussions, and issue resolution across the investment lifecycle.
Stakeholder Engagement & Coordination
- Coordinate with relevant ministries, departments, regulators, state governments, industry associations, and private sector entities.
- Support organization of investment promotion activities such as roundtables, workshops, roadshows, conferences, and delegations.
Entrepreneurship & Ecosystem Development
- Contribute to initiatives aimed at enhancing awareness, innovation, entrepreneurship, and capacity building within the assigned sector(s).
- Support sustainable enterprise development and ecosystem strengthening initiatives.
Project Management & Execution
- Manage assigned workstreams and deliverables with clear ownership, timelines, and quality standards.
- Work across multiple projects simultaneously while adhering to strict deadlines and stakeholder expectations.
Qualifications
- Graduate or Post-Graduate degree in Engineering, Economics, Management, Public Policy, Sector-specific streams, or other relevant disciplines.
Professional Experience
- 1–3 years of relevant experience in a front-end role at:
- Consulting firms
- Development agencies
- Investment banks
- Investment promotion agencies
- Corporates or global organizations aligned with relevant sectors
Skills & Competencies
- Experience in preparing DPRs, research reports, policy briefs, or analytical notes.
- Strong analytical, research, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively within teams while taking ownership of assigned tasks.
- High attention to detail, accuracy, and professional standards.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work in fast-paced environments, manage multiple priorities, and meet tight deadlines.
