Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site position based in India for a Senior Geophysicist / Seismic Interpreter. The role involves using advanced geophysical and seismic data to interpret subsurface structures and guide exploration efforts. Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting geophysical surveys, managing data acquisition and processing, analyzing seismic data to generate accurate geological models, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver actionable insights. The position demands a combination of technical expertise, innovative thinking, and problem-solving skills.
Experience: Minimum 15 years in O&G exploration with a focus on advanced seismic workflows.
Core Competencies:
- Structural & Stratigraphic Mapping: regional seismic interpretation to define complex structural styles and seismic stratigraphic basin frameworks.
- Prospect Inventory Development: identifying and maturing a robust portfolio of leads and prospects.
- Quantitative Interpretation (QI): pre-stack seismic inversion and AVO (Amplitude Versus Offset) analysis to accurately characterize reservoir quality and fluid content.
- Depth Imaging & Velocity Modelling: Advanced skills in velocity model building and the generation of high-precision depth maps and seismic volumes.
- Evaluation & Risking: Deep understanding of resource estimation and prospect risking.
