Job Title: Lead Trainer – Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA) & Micro-Planning

Location: Hijli, Kharagpur, West Bengal

Engagement Type: Contract (Project-Based)

Project Duration: 9 Training Programs (3 Days Each)

Client: State Forest Training Institute


About the Assignment

We are seeking an experienced and domain-focused Lead Trainer to conduct Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA) & Micro-Planning Training programs for forest and rural development stakeholders. The trainer will be responsible for delivering structured, field-oriented, and participatory training sessions aligned with government guidelines.


Key Responsibilities

  • Design and deliver 3-day PRA & Micro-Planning training modules

  • Facilitate participatory tools such as:

    • Social Mapping

    • Resource Mapping

    • Seasonal Calendars

    • Wealth Ranking

    • Institutional Mapping

  • Guide participants in preparation of Village Micro-Plans

  • Conduct interactive classroom and field-based practical sessions

  • Prepare training materials, case studies, and handouts

  • Submit post-training reports and documentation

  • Coordinate with institute officials for smooth execution


Eligibility & Qualifications

  • Postgraduate in Rural Development / Social Work / Development Studies / Forestry / Sociology or related field

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in PRA facilitation and rural micro-planning

  • Prior experience working with Government Departments, Forest Department, NGOs, or livelihood missions preferred

  • Strong field facilitation and participatory training skills

  • Experience in Joint Forest Management (JFM) or community forest planning will be an advantage.
