Human Resources Business Partner – Marketplace Operations

Pepper Content seeks a dedicated HR Business Partner to support external consultants across all Content Studios in our marketplace model, ensuring their well-being, optimal utilization, and positive engagement as extensions of the Pepper team. This role focuses on addressing the unique needs of freelancers without dedicated HR support, through proactive relationship management and data-driven HR practices. The ideal candidate will drive consultant satisfaction and growth in a collaborative client environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct regular catch-ups and document all conversations with consultants to track grievances, sentiment, and performance, maintaining comprehensive records similar to internal HR processes.
  • Monitor consultant utilization across projects, optimize resource allocation, and ensure fair treatment to boost productivity and retention in the Content Studio ecosystem.
  • Handle employee relations issues, provide policy guidance, and foster positive sentiment by resolving concerns promptly and supporting overall well-being.
  • Analyze HR metrics on consultant engagement, turnover, and growth; report insights to leadership and recommend strategies aligned with Pepper’s business goals.
  • Support professional development through training needs assessment, growth opportunities, and performance feedback in extended client collaborations.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business, or related field; HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP) preferred but not mandatory.
  • 5+ years in HRBP or talent management, ideally with freelancers, gig workers, or content platforms, or agency backgrounds.
  • Strong skills in data documentation, stakeholder communication, and relationship building.
  • Experience with HR tools for tracking metrics and compliance in dynamic environments.
  • Excellent knowledge of Indian labor laws, especially for external resources.
