- Create and maintain automation workflows and scripts to handle network provisioning, configuration, and deployment.
- Write scripts, often using languages like Python, to automate routine network tasks and build services.
- Use software and automation tools to manage, configure, and deploy network devices and infrastructures efficiently.
- Implement monitoring and reporting mechanisms to ensure optimal network performance and identify areas for improvement.
- Work with network engineers, DevOps, and security teams to streamline operations and meet requirements.
- Troubleshoot issues related to both the network and the automation tools themselves.
- Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for network designs, automation processes, and technical procedures.
- Implement and maintain automation that adheres to network security standards and compliance requirements.
Requirements
- Python is a key language, but other languages like JavaScript or PowerShell can be beneficial.
- Proficiency with tools like Ansible, Terraform, and ServiceNow is good to have
- A strong understanding of networking fundamentals, including protocols, and experience with various network devices (switches, routers, firewalls, load balancers).
- Experience with API-based integrations to connect and automate different systems.
- Experience with data collection, network monitoring tools (like IP SLA), and various databases (SQL, NoSQL, Time-Series).
- Familiarity with DevOps tools and CI/CD pipelines is often advantageous
