A Solar Production Incharge oversees daily manufacturing or assembly operations, ensuring production targets are met efficiently while maintaining high-quality standards and safety protocols (HSE). Key duties include managing shop floor staff, optimizing workflows to reduce costs/waste, tracking inventory, troubleshooting technical issues, and ensuring compliance with standards like IEC.
Key Responsibilities
Production Planning & Execution: Plan and execute daily/weekly/monthly production schedules to meet targets.
Team Leadership: Supervise, train, and manage shop floor operators, technicians, and supervisors to maximize output.
Quality Control & Compliance: Ensure products meet IEC 61215/61730 standards, monitor, and implement Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA) for rejections.
Process Optimization: Analyze manufacturing methods to reduce waste, downtime, and production costs, implementing lean manufacturing techniques.
Operational Monitoring: Monitor machinery performance, manage raw material inventory, and ensure safe, compliant working environments (5S implementation).
Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate production reports, ISO documentation, and shift logs.
Qualifications and Skills
Education: B.E/B.Tech in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
Experience: Generally requires 5–8+ years in manufacturing, with direct experience in the solar PV industry preferred.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in production management software (ERP), understanding of solar modules/cell production processes.
Competencies: Strong leadership, analytical problem-solving, and time-management skills.
This role is critical for optimizing productivity, reducing waste, and ensuring the timely, high-quality production of solar panels or components.
