Job Title: Electrical Engineer – DC (Solar PV Plant)

Experience: 6-7 Years of relevant experience in DC works of Solar Power Projects

Qualification: Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering

Project Type: Utility-Scale Solar PV Project

Reporting To: Electrical Area In-Charge / Electrical Manager

Job Purpose

To execute, supervise, and control all DC-side electrical works of the solar PV plant, ensuring installation is completed safely, on time, and in compliance with approved drawings, specifications, and standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise DC-side works including:
• PV module installation and string formation
• DC cable laying, routing, dressing, and termination
• Installation and termination of String Combiner Boxes (SCBs)
• Module, structure, and DC equipment earthing
• Ensure execution as per approved drawings, method statements, BOQ, and specifications.
• Conduct and record DC tests such as polarity check, continuity test, IR test, and torque tightening.
• Coordinate with QA/QC for inspections, punch clearance, and approvals.
• Support pre-commissioning and commissioning activities related to DC systems.
• Ensure strict adherence to HSE rules and electrical safety practices at site.
• Coordinate with civil, mechanical, and AC electrical teams for smooth execution.
• Plan manpower deployment and monitor daily productivity.
• Maintain daily progress reports, test records, and as-built documentation.

Skills & Competency

• Strong knowledge of solar PV DC systems and components.
• Familiar with IEC standards applicable to DC installations.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and layouts.
• Good coordination, reporting, and site management skills.

Preferred

• Experience in utility-scale solar projects (50 MW and above).
• Experience in Middle East solar projects is an added advantage.
