We are seeking a commercially sharp and technically strong Cost Engineer to strengthen Cost governance across garment development and manufacturing operations. This role will be responsible for end-to-end cost analysis, vendor pricing validation, and cost optimization across raw materials, trims, labor, and production processes. The ideal candidate combines deep apparel manufacturing knowledge with strong commercial negotiation capability. 

Key Responsibilities:

1. Costing & Commercial Analysis 

• Prepare, review, and validate detailed garment cost sheets. 

• Analyze fabric consumption, trims, CM (Cut & Make), overheads, and margin  

structures. 

• Benchmark vendor pricing across regions and production units. 

• Identify cost leakage and margin of erosion risks. 

2. Vendor Pricing & Negotiation 

• Review supplier quotations for accuracy and competitiveness. 

• Lead cost negotiations with fabric mills, trim suppliers, and manufacturing  

partners. 

• Ensure alignment between technical specifications and quoted costs. 

• Drive annual and seasonal cost optimization initiatives. 

3. Garment Development Support 

• Partner with product development teams during sampling and pre-production. 

• Provide early-stage cost visibility during design and material selection. 

• Suggest alternative materials or construction methods for cost efficiency. 

4. Sourcing & Procurement Collaboration 

• Support sourcing strategy by evaluating supplier commercial models. 

• Assess MOQs, lead times, and land cost implications. 

• Contribute to supplier performance reviews from a cost-efficiency lens. 

️5. Reporting & Controls 

• Maintain cost databases and cost tracking dashboards. 

• Provide variance analysis between estimated and actual production costs. 

• Support budgeting and forecasting cycles. 

Required Qualifications 

• 5–8 years’ experience in Apparel / Garment Manufacturing Cost Analysis. 

• Strong understanding of: 

o Fabric costing & yield calculation 

o Trim costing 

o CM costing 

o Production overhead structures 

• Hands-on experience reviewing and building detailed cost sheets. 

• Proven supplier negotiation experience. 

• Strong Excel & data analysis capability. 

• Exposure to international sourcing preferred. 

 Experience in Centric PLM or any other PLM system is an added advantage.

  • Prior experience in garment costing and fabric consumption calculation is mandatory*.
  • Hands-on experience in garment costing and cost sheet preparation is required*.

Preferred Background 

  • Experience working with performance apparel / outerwear / industrial workwear. 
  • Exposure multi-country vendor networks (Asia preferred).  
  • Engineering, Textile Technology, or Apparel Manufacturing degree preferred.
