It features 12 dedicated operation theatres and extensive intensive care facilities comprising 46 beds across ICU, SICU, NICU, PICU, CCU, and NSICU units. The institution operates 24×7 emergency services, a centralized laboratory, and round-the-clock pharmacy and ambulance services. It is nationally accredited (NABH) and academically affiliated with a prominent, decades-old University renowned for medical education and excellence in the region.
Position Summary
The Associate Professor in Dermatology will assume a pivotal academic and clinical leadership role. The incumbent will be responsible for delivering high-quality education to medical students, providing advanced dermatological patient care, and driving research initiatives within the department. The role requires a balance of clinical expertise in skin, venereal diseases, and leprosy, alongside a strong commitment to academic progression in a university teaching setting.
Mandatory Qualifications Education
Education: Candidate must hold a valid MBBS degree. Candidate must hold a postgraduate degree (MD/MS/DNB) in Dermatology, Venereology, and Leprosy from a recognized institution.
Experience
A minimum of 1 year of working experience as a Senior Resident in a recognized medical college or teaching hospital. A minimum of 4 years of continuous teaching experience as an Assistant Professor in Dermatology at a recognized medical college or university.
Publications
Publications: Must have at least two research publications in indexed journals as per the latest National Medical Commission (NMC) guidelines.
Key Responsibilities
- Academic and Teaching Conduct theoretical and practical classes for undergraduate and postgraduate students in accordance with the university curriculum. Mentor students and junior residents, guiding them in clinical case presentations, seminars, and journal clubs. Participate in curriculum development and assessment methodologies for the department.
- Clinical Services Manage Outpatient Department (OPD) and Inpatient Department (IPD) cases, ensuring high standards of patient care. Perform and supervise diagnostic and therapeutic dermatological procedures, including skin biopsies, cautery, lasers, and other minor surgical interventions. Provide expert consultation for complex dermatological conditions, sexually transmitted infections, and leprosy cases. Ensure accurate documentation of patient records and adherence to clinical protocols.
- Research and Publications Lead and participate in departmental research projects. Encourage and guide postgraduate students in their thesis and research work. Publish scientific papers in national and international indexed journals to meet regulatory and institutional academic standards.
- Administrative and Quality Assurance Assist the Head of Department in administrative duties and departmental management. Participate in hospital quality improvement initiatives, including adherence to NABH standards and patient safety protocols. Engage in continuing medical education (CME) programs and conferences to stay updated with the latest advancements in Dermatology.
Compensation
Annual Salary: INR 22 Lakhs to INR 24 Lakhs per annum, determined based on the candidate’s experience and credentials.
