Job Description:

Job Purpose:

To carry out all land and topographical surveying works required for EPC (Engineering, Procurement & Construction) projects, ensuring accurate data collection, setting out, and verification of construction works as per drawings and design specifications.


Key Responsibilities:

  1. Survey Planning & Execution

    • Conduct topographical, boundary, and control surveys using Total Station, GPS, Auto Level, and other instruments.

    • Establish and maintain horizontal and vertical control points for project execution.

    • Carry out site layout and marking as per approved construction drawings.

  2. Data Collection & Documentation

    • Record and process survey data for design and construction use.

    • Prepare survey reports, maps, and as-built drawings.

    • Maintain proper logs of benchmarks, reference points, and survey instruments.

  3. Coordination

    • Coordinate with design, civil, and mechanical teams for layout requirements.

    • Support subcontractors and quality teams in checking alignment, levels, and dimensions.

    • Liaise with consultants and clients for verification of survey results.

  4. Quality & Compliance

    • Ensure all survey work complies with project specifications and engineering standards.

    • Conduct re-checks and verifications before concreting or installation activities.

    • Support QA/QC documentation with as-built survey data.

  5. Instrument Maintenance & Calibration

    • Maintain and calibrate all survey instruments regularly.

    • Ensure safe handling and upkeep of equipment.

  6. As-Built & Final Survey

    • Conduct final as-built surveys for submission and client approval.

    • Provide input for preparation of final project drawings and documentation.


Qualifications & Experience:

  • Education: Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Civil Engineering or Surveying.

  • Experience: 3–10 years of experience in land/topographical surveying for EPC projects (Water, Power, Infrastructure, Industrial Plants, etc.).

  • Technical Skills:

    • Proficiency in Total Station, GPS, Auto Level, and survey software (AutoCAD, Civil 3D, etc.).

    • Strong understanding of coordinate systems, levelling, and layout principles.

    • Ability to interpret engineering drawings and layouts.
