Job Title: Plant HR Business Partner

Role Purpose
The Plant HR Business Partner (HRBP) will lead end-to-end HR operations for the Genset (Distributed Energy) manufacturing plant at Phaltan. The role is responsible for driving people strategy, ensuring 100% statutory compliance (with strong focus on Maharashtra labour laws), fostering a productive industrial relations environment, and partnering with business leaders to support plant performance and growth.
Key Responsibilities
1. Strategic HR & Business Partnering
- Act as a strategic HR partner to the Plant Head and leadership team, aligning HR initiatives with plant business objectives.
- Support workforce planning, manpower budgeting, and productivity improvement initiatives.
- Drive a performance-oriented culture across plant operations.
2. Statutory Compliance & Labour Laws (Maharashtra Focus)
- Ensure complete compliance with all applicable central and Maharashtra state labour laws, including but not limited to:
- Factories Act
- Industrial Disputes Act
- Shops & Establishment Act (Maharashtra)
- Contract Labour (R&A) Act
- EPF, ESIC, Gratuity, Bonus, Minimum Wages, PT, LWF, etc.
- Handle inspections, audits, notices, and liaison with labour authorities.
- Maintain accurate statutory records, registers, and returns.
3. Industrial Relations (IR)
- Maintain healthy industrial relations at the plant.
- Manage trade unions (if applicable), negotiations, settlements, and grievance handling.
- Handle disciplinary matters, domestic enquiries, and employee misconduct cases in line with law and company policy.
- Proactively address employee issues to avoid disputes and ensure smooth plant operations.
4. Talent Management & Staffing
- Manage end-to-end recruitment for plant positions (permanent, contractual, and apprentices).
- Oversee onboarding, induction, and confirmation processes.
- Support succession planning and internal talent development for critical plant roles.
5. Performance Management & Employee Development
- Implement and manage the performance management system (PMS) at the plant.
- Identify training needs and coordinate technical, behavioral, and statutory trainings.
- Promote a culture of continuous learning, safety, and operational excellence.
6. Employee Engagement & Culture
- Drive employee engagement initiatives, communication forums, and engagement surveys.
- Ensure effective grievance redressal mechanisms.
- Promote company values, ethics, diversity, and inclusion at the plant.
