What Youll Be Doing (position summary):
The Senior Manager, Mobile & Services Development is accountable for leading multiple development teams responsible for the end-to-end delivery of microservices, APIs, and mobile banking platforms. This role oversees the development, testing, and implementation of enterprise-scale digital solutions, fosters a culture of continuous improvement, compliance, and innovation, and builds strong relationships with clients, business partners, and team members. The incumbent motivates and develops staff, monitors and improves quality, ensures best practice development techniques, and partners with stakeholders to deliver programs that drive business improvement and digital transformation.

How Youll Succeed (responsibilities):
Development & Delivery
- Lead enterprise-level application development and delivery, focusing on high-quality banking APIs, microservices, and mobile applications
- Oversee the design, development, testing, and implementation of organization-wide digital solutions
- Drive discussions with business and technical teams to identify opportunities for technology and process improvements
- Ensure adherence to code quality standards, best practice development techniques, and compliance with policies, standards, guidelines, and controls
- Track and analyze the operating environment for specified services and implement corrective actions as needed
People Management
- Set appropriate context when assigning work to ensure that individuals roles support the achievement of the business units priorities and CIBCs overall goals
- Build team and individual capabilities by providing development opportunities such as job shadowing, special projects, and training
- Manage performance by providing fair and accurate formal and informal feedback, identifying and removing obstacles to performance, and explaining how performance expectations align with business priorities
- Create a positive work environment and be an effective role model by championing CIBCs mission, vision, and values
- Ensure compliance with policies, standards, guidelines, and controls by applying the policies and controls fairly and consistently so employees understand what to expect
- Hire the right people in the right jobs to align individual capabilities with job requirements and business unit goals
- Lead, coach, and mentor high-performing teams, maximizing contributions and professional growth
Relationship Management
- Work closely with clients and business partners to develop, test, implement, and maintain digital banking systems and application programs
- Advise application owners on technology possibilities, requirements, and technical decisions impacting delivery
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to plan for product and feature development and releases
- Influence and improve the business by providing strategic technology guidance
Experience: 10+ years of experience
Who You Are (skills/qualifications):
Must Have Skills:
- Extensive experience leading digital application and mobile development teams in enterprise environments 10+ years of industry experience required
- Deep technical acumen in Java, Kotlin, Compose UI, Objective-C, Swift, Swift UI, Spring/SpringBoot, Microservices Architecture, Cloud-native technologies, and DevSecOps pipelines
- Strong understanding of software design using SOLID principles
- Experience in the banking domain is an asset
- Degree/diploma in Computer Science, Business, or related field preferred
- Excellent leadership, coaching, and mentoring abilities
- Strong communication and relationship management skills
- Analytical and problem-solving skills
- Time management and organizational skills
