Job Description:

The Principal will be the chief academic and executive leader of the institution, responsible for building a future-ready, industry-integrated, and academically rigorous college while ensuring full compliance with the affiliating parent university and statutory regulatory bodies.

This role requires a senior academic leader with the stature and credibility to balance regulatory governance, curriculum innovation, employability outcomes, and institutional reputation building—positioning the college as a benchmark institution in Eastern India.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic & Institutional Leadership

               •            Formulate and execute a long-term vision for developing a modern institute aligned with Kolkata’s academic, cultural, and industry ecosystem.

               •            Lead digital transformation initiatives, interdisciplinary academic models, and learner-centric pedagogies.

               •            Ensure strict adherence to parent-university statutes, examination systems, academic calendars, and regulatory directives.

Academic Excellence & Program Development

               •            Oversee academic planning and delivery to meet and exceed parent-university standards.

               •            Promote faculty research, scholarly publications, and continuous pedagogical innovation.

               •            Introduce skill-oriented certificates, micro-credentials, and add-on programs within the affiliating framework.

Apprenticeship, Placement & Industry Integration

               •            Institutionalize structured apprenticeship pathways, internships, and work-integrated learning programs across disciplines.

               •            Build strategic partnerships with corporates, media organizations, hospitality groups, sports bodies, and emerging industries.

               •            Strengthen the Training & Placement Cell with outcome-driven KPIs for recruiter engagement, placement ratios, compensation benchmarks, and alumni participation.

               •            Position employability and career readiness as core institutional success metrics.

Accreditation, Rankings & Quality Assurance

               •            Lead NAAC, NBA, and other accreditation processes with institution-wide coordination.

               •            Drive participation in national ranking and benchmarking frameworks.

               •            Establish robust Internal Quality Assurance Systems, academic audits, and continuous-improvement mechanisms.

Enrollment Growth & Brand Building

               •            Design ethical, data-led student recruitment strategies and outreach programs across Eastern India.

               •            Serve as the public academic face of the institution at government, university, and industry forums.

               •            Build the institutional brand around graduate outcomes, academic integrity, innovation, and societal impact.

Administrative & Operational Oversight

               •            Direct financial planning, infrastructure expansion, HR systems, and campus operations.

               •            Ensure compliance with legal, statutory, financial, and academic governance requirements.

               •            Foster a transparent, inclusive, and high-performance institutional culture.

Faculty & Staff Leadership

               •            Recruit, mentor, and retain high-quality faculty and administrators.

               •            Implement performance management systems, leadership pipelines, and professional-development frameworks.

               •            Encourage collaborative governance while safeguarding academic autonomy within regulatory structures.

Mandatory Qualifications & Experience

               •            Doctoral degree (PhD or equivalent) — mandatory.

               •            Minimum 10–20 years of experience in higher education with significant academic leadership responsibility (Principal, Dean, Director, or Head of Department).

               •            Proven experience in managing affiliating-university compliance, accreditation cycles, placements, and institutional expansion.

               •            Strong command over regulatory frameworks, quality assurance systems, and industry-academia partnership models.

  •                •            Visionary, data-driven leader with exceptional communication and stakeholder-management skills.
