Associate Engineer II

About this team:

This role is in the Retail Engineering and Delivery team in the lululemon technology organization. This team is responsible for engineering and deploying Retail solutions for our stores to enhance our educator and guest experience along with supporting all data integrations. This will be a critical role in building modern Data, Streaming and Integration roadmap including scalable, durable and fast real-time data availability across the enterprise.

A day in the life:

The Associate Engineer II assists in developing high-performing, well-tested and thoughtfully architected software applications that satisfy our internal business needs and power guest experiences.

  • Coordinates and communicates the install, develop and deployment of POS builds
  • Assists in troubleshooting and resolving both production and lower environment system issues
  • Supports QA testing activities where applicable
  • Apply engineering best practices to ensure applications are highly available, observable, and durable.
  • Collaborate closely with frontend, backend, and operations engineers to deliver secure, resilient, and well documented solutions.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in computer science, Engineering, or equivalent
  • 3+ years of software engineering experience
  • Experience developing software solutions with strong fundamentals in automated testing, source control, and CI/CD practices
  • Proficiency with collaboration tools such as JIRA, SharePoint, and Confluence
  • Experience with POS systems (Oracle or similar) and payment hardware is an asset
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong problem?solving skills and curiosity about system behavior
  • Comfortable working in complex, large?scale production environments
  • Solid understanding of relational databases (MS SQL Server, Oracle) and integration patterns
  • Experience analyzing system metrics, logs, and improving system performance
  • Familiarity with API development and microservices architecture (Java/J2EE, Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Kafka, Spring Security), JavaScript, XML, and SOAP/REST services is a plus
  • Experience integrating with middleware technologies (ETL, ESB, SOAP, XML)
  • Exposure to logging and monitoring tools such as Datadog, Grafana, or Splunk
