English Teacher instructs students in reading, writing, speaking, and listening, focusing on grammar, literature, and vocabulary to improve communication skills. Key Responsibilities
Curriculum Development: Designing and implementing lesson plans that align with educational standards.
Instruction: Teaching reading, writing, grammar, vocabulary, and literature, adjusting methods for diverse learning styles.
Assessment: Evaluating student performance through tests, quizzes, assignments, and projects, providing constructive feedback.
Classroom Management: Maintaining a positive, safe, and productive, engaging classroom environment.
Student Support: Meeting with parents/guardians, conducting conferences, and offering additional support to students.
Professionalism: Participating in staff meetings, workshops, and ongoing professional development.
Required Qualifications & Skills
Education: Bachelor’s degree in English, English Literature, or Education.
Certification: Teaching license or credential, often required by state or district standards.
Communication: Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.
Experience: Prior experience in a teaching role, student teaching, or working with children/young adults.
Technology: Proficiency with educational technology and digital learning tools.
