    Job Summary – This role is responsible for driving new merchant acquisition across SMB, mid-market and enterprise segments in India, with a strong focus on cross‑border trade and revenue growth for PayPal India IS. The role involves generating and converting leads through outbound efforts achieving sales quotas and ensuring high customer satisfaction.

    Essential Responsibilities:

  • Own new merchant acquisition in India across assigned segments, consistently meeting or exceeding quotas and growth goals.
  • Drive demand generation and lead qualification through cold calling, email outreach, events, market visits and other outbound initiatives.
  • Leverage solid understanding of India’s cross‑border trade ecosystem to expand PayPal’s reach and distribution among merchants and partners.
  • Develop and execute engagement strategies tailored to key cross‑border verticals to acquire high‑value SMB, mid‑market and enterprise merchants.
  • Negotiate and close merchant contracts, effectively addressing legal, financial and basic technical considerations in collaboration with internal teams.
  • Conduct structured discovery to deeply understand customer needs and position relevant pre‑packaged solutions, use cases and value propositions.
  • Maintain a rigorous, well‑qualified pipeline with accurate forecasting, and provide regular reporting on pipeline health and revenue outlook.
  • Partner closely with cross‑functional teams (product, marketing, legal, risk, operations, partner teams) to ensure alignment and to feed customer insights back into propositions and go‑to‑market.

  • Proven B2B sales track record with expertise in new business acquisition and merchant relationship scaling
  • Deep understanding of Cross Border Payments & India’s export ecosystem and ability to position PayPal solutions to service/goods exporters
  • Strong capability in targeting and acquiring new logos within the mid-market and high-value merchant segments to drive revenue attainment and business growth
  • Efficient in relationship-building skills to identify and collaborate with ecosystem partners for organic business growth
  • Expertise in strong pipeline management by prospecting, lead generation, and maintaining qualified pipelines with strong conversion focus
  • Proficiency in targeted cold outreach and discovery calls with strong communication and credibility-building abilities
  • Skilled at uncovering merchant pain points and translating them into customized PayPal solutions & Proven ability to guide merchants through complete onboarding—from sign-up to technical integration and go-live success
