About the Role
We are a fast-growing eCommerce + manufacturing company in the gardening space. We are hiring a Business HR (Virtual HR) who will own the complete HR function end-to-end — hiring, onboarding, HR operations, payroll, and statutory compliance filings. This is a hands-on execution role, working directly with the founder, and coordinating with on-ground supervisors for daily implementation.
Key Responsibilities (End-to-End)
1) Recruitment & Hiring (Priority)
- Own end-to-end hiring: sourcing → screening → interviews → offers → joining
- Hire across office + operations roles (customer support/telecalling, warehouse/factory, admin, etc.)
- Maintain daily hiring tracker (pipeline, follow-ups, offer drops, joining ratio)
2) Onboarding & Documentation
- Own onboarding checklist and documentation process for every new joiner
- Coordinate joining formalities with on-ground supervisors/admin (document collection, letters, induction)
3) HR Operations
- Manage attendance/leave processes and maintain employee records
- HR letters/templates (offer, appointment, warnings, confirmations, exits, etc.)
- Employee relations basics: grievances, discipline coordination, escalation management
4) Payroll & Statutory Compliance (Ownership + Filings)
- Manage payroll processing coordination and ensure accuracy of payroll inputs (attendance, incentives, deductions, leaves)
- PF: generate challans, file PF returns and ensure timely compliance
- ESIC: generate challans, file ESIC returns and ensure timely compliance
- PT (Professional Tax): filings and payments as applicable
- Coordinate/ensure other labour compliances (as applicable): registers, returns, contractor compliances, wage compliance documentation
- Coordinate with CA/payroll vendor if required, but ownership of compliance calendar and closure remains with HR
5) Reporting & Systems
- Weekly reporting to founder: hiring status, attrition, attendance exceptions, compliance status
- Improve HR processes and implement systems (Google Sheets/HRMS/ATS) for efficiency
Must-Have (Minimum 5 years)
- 5+ years experience in end-to-end HR Generalist / People Ops / HR Ops
- Strong hiring ownership + joining conversion (not just coordination)
- Hands-on experience with PF, ESIC, PT and statutory compliance filings
- Payroll process understanding + ability to run compliance calendars and closures
- Fluent in Hindi and English
- Strong Excel/Google Sheets skills; ATS/HRMS familiarity is a plus
Preferred
- eCommerce/D2C or operations-heavy industries (manufacturing, warehouse/logistics, retail, BPO)
- Experience hiring operations roles and managing blue-collar workforce compliance
