What does this role hold for you?

As Chief Product Officer, you will own the end-to-end product vision, strategy, and execution across REA India’s consumer and supplier platforms. As a member of the Executive Leadership Team, you will play a critical role in shaping the company’s strategic direction, driving growth, and delivering differentiated marketplace experiences at scale.

This role combines strategic leadership, deep customer empathy, commercial acumen, and operational excellence to build world-class digital marketplace products across both demand (consumer) and supply (developers, brokers, partners) ecosystems.

Key Areas of Accountability

1. Product Strategy & Vision

  • Define and articulate a clear, compelling product vision aligned to REA India’s business strategy and long-term growth objectives.
  • Own the product roadmap across Housing.com, balancing innovation, scalability, and commercial outcomes.
  • Champion customer-centric thinking, leveraging data, research, and insights to solve real consumer and supplier problems.
  • Lead product thinking across the entire marketplace lifecycle.
  • Drive platform strategy including pricing, packaging, subscriptions, and monetisation models across B2C and B2B offerings.
  • Define and lead the AI-powered product vision for REA India, integrating machine learning and generative AI into core product strategy in alignment with business goals and REA Group standards.

2. Product & Design Team Leadership

  • Lead, inspire, and scale a large, high-performing multi-disciplinary product organisation, including Product Management, Design, UX Research, and Product Operations.
  • Build strong leadership benches and succession plans, coach and mentor senior product leaders.
  • Foster a culture of ownership, accountability, experimentation, and continuous learning.
  • Establish best-in-class product development practices, governance, and decision-making frameworks.
  • Champion the use of AI to improve internal productivity and operational effectiveness across Product & Design, including automation, experimentation, analytics, and decision support.
  • Partner closely with Engineering, Data Science, Sales, Marketing, Operations, and Finance to deliver integrated outcomes.

3. Execution of Strategy

  • Translate strategy into high-quality, timely execution, ensuring products are delivered with speed, quality, and measurable impact.
  • Drive outcomes through metrics, and data-driven decision-making, balancing short-term wins with long-term platform investments.
  • Lead experimentation through MVPs, pilots, and A/B testing to de-risk innovation.
  • Ensure seamless collaboration across distributed teams and stakeholders.
  • Own accountability for customer experience, product performance, and business impact.

4. Budget & Commercial Management

  • Own the Product & Design function budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources and strong ROI on investments.
  • Partner with Finance and Executive Leadership Team peers on annual planning, forecasting, and prioritization.
  • Drive commercial outcomes through pricing strategy, packaging innovation, and marketplace optimization.
  • Balance investment in core platforms, new growth initiatives, and operational excellence.

  • 18+ years of experience in Product Management, with significant time in senior leadership roles.
  • Proven experience leading large, complex product teams in high-scale digital or technology-led organizations.
  • Strong background in digital marketplaces, platforms, or consumer internet businesses.
  • Demonstrated success across consumer-facing products as well as supply-side / partner products.
  • Experience with pricing, packaging, monetisation, and business model innovation.
  • Strong strategic thinking combined with hands-on execution capability.
  • Exceptional stakeholder management, communication, and executive presence.
  • Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, ambiguous, growth-oriented environment.
  • Experience in real estate, media advertising or adjacent digital ecosystems is as it will be a strong plus.
