Junior Designer

Toni Rossi is a leading leather footwear brand in Chennai and We are seeking a creative and detail-oriented Jr. Designer to conceptualize, design, and develop innovative Leather Goods (Footwear, Bags, Belts, Wallets,etc) collections that align with our brand identity and market trends. The ideal candidate combines strong artistic skills with technical knowledge of materials, construction, and manufacturing processes. They will be responsible for coordinating with design and production teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Research fashion trends, materials, colors, and consumer preferences
• Develop seasonal footwear concepts and collections
• Create sketches, technical drawings, and digital renderings
• Develop mood boards and design presentations
• Select materials, trims, and components
• Work closely with product development and production teams
• Create detailed tech packs for manufacturers
• Oversee prototype development and sample approvals
• Ensure designs meet cost, quality, and performance standards
• Collaborate with marketing and merchandising teams

Required Skills & Competencies

• Strong sketching and illustration skills
• Proficiency in design software (Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop)
• Knowledge of footwear construction techniques
• Understanding of materials (leather, synthetics, textiles, rubber)
• Ability to create detailed technical specifications
• Creative thinking and innovation
• Strong attention to detail
• Time management and deadline-driven
• Communication and teamwork skills
• Problem-solving ability

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design, Footwear Design, Industrial Design, or related field
• 2–5 years of experience in footwear design 
• Strong portfolio showcasing footwear projects
• Experience working with manufacturers (preferred)
• Knowledge of global fashion trends and consumer behavior
• Understanding of sustainability practices

Preferred Qualifications (Optional)

• Experience in athletic, luxury, or sustainable footwear
• 3D design software knowledge (CLO3D, Rhino, or similar)
• International sourcing experience
