What Youll Be Doing (Position Summary):

The Senior Specialist, Financial Transactionsis responsible forensuring that all financial transactions are completedin accordance withestablished procedures and due diligence requirements for clients across various market segments supported by the Business Client Centre (BCC). This role provides guidance to Financial Transactions Processors, supports escalations,overrides, andassiststhe manager in day-to-day operations to ensure operational excellence and compliance.

How Youll Succeed (Responsibilities):

  • Oversee and ensure service requests are completed within SLAs,monitoringdaily data for productivity, accountability, and accuracy.
  • Manage and resolve all escalations related to the team, engaging business partners and BCC teams as needed.
  • Review and provide guidance on complex service requests, ensuring requirements are met and processing risks are mitigated.
  • Identifyand forward complex or non-standard documents to the legal department for review; provide guidance on legal opinions to team members.
  • Ensure proper documentation and authorization for payment processing,
  • Assist Relationship team and colleagues with complex transaction processing queries.
  • Address gaps in Financial Transactions processes and escalate unresolved issues to BCC leadership asrequired.
  • Ensure Suspense accounts areoperatedin accordance withCIBCs policies.
  • Identifyand recommend improvements to operational efficiency andadvisemanagement on process enhancements.
  • Stay current on internal and external developments to respond to customer needs effectively.
  • Performadditionalduties or projects as assigned by the Manager, Financial Transactions.

Experience: 5+ years of experience

Who You Are (Skills / Qualifications):

Must Have Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Finance, Operations Management, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in financial transaction processing, commercial banking, or related operations.
  • Professional certifications in banking, AML, or risk management (preferred).
  • Proficiencyin English (written and verbal).
  • Detailed knowledge of practices, products, services, and procedures related to Retail Markets and Commercial Banking.
  • Strong understanding of corporate structures and ability to review signing authority documentation.
  • Well-developed judgment and problem-solving skills, with the ability to respond quickly to complex queries.
  • Strong understanding of risk management practices related to signing authorities and AML verification.
  • Ability to interpret client requests and provideaccurate, autonomous responses.
  • Excellent multitasking, prioritization, and organizational skills in a fast-paced environment.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills for drafting clear and concise policy and procedure explanations.
  • Working knowledge of Salesforce, COINS, is an assetProficient in Microsoft Office suite(Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Ability to develop strong working relationships with partners and service providers.
