About the Opportunity
Our client, a well-established organization in the Pharmaceutical & Medical sector, is seeking an experienced Import & Export Manager to lead international trade operations and ensure seamless global movement of goods.
This is a high-impact role where you will oversee end-to-end import/export processes, ensure regulatory compliance, manage logistics partners, and drive cost optimization initiatives.
If you have strong exposure to customs compliance, DGFT regulations, LC handling, and international documentation — this role offers stability, responsibility, and visibility within a growing business.
Key Responsibilities
Import & Export Operations
Manage end-to-end international trade documentation and procedures
Coordinate with freight forwarders, shipping lines, CHA, and transporters
Ensure timely customs clearance of inbound and outbound shipments
Monitor shipment schedules and proactively resolve delays
Compliance & Documentation
Ensure full compliance with international trade laws and customs regulations
Prepare and verify key documents:
Commercial Invoice
Packing List
Bill of Lading / Airway Bill
Shipping Bill
Letter of Credit (LC) documentation
Bill of Entry
Certificate of Origin
Stay current with DGFT, GST, and related regulatory requirements
Vendor & Stakeholder Coordination
Liaise with international suppliers and customers
Negotiate freight rates and shipping terms
Coordinate with finance for duty calculations and LC handling
Collaborate with warehouse and sales teams
Cost Control & Reporting
Monitor freight costs, duties, and overall shipment expenses
Optimize shipping routes and logistics strategies
Prepare MIS reports and track KPIs related to compliance and delivery timelines
Risk Management
Manage shipment disputes, damage claims, and insurance matters
Ensure documentation accuracy to avoid penalties
Handle export incentive schemes (RoDTEP, EPCG where applicable)
Requirements
Bachelors degree in International Business, Commerce, Supply Chain, or related field
5+ years of hands-on experience in import-export operations
Certification in Import-Export Management (preferred)
Strong knowledge of customs regulations and trade compliance
Experience handling Letters of Credit (LC) and international payment terms
Familiarity with DGFT, GST, and global trade laws
Proficiency in MS Excel and ERP systems
Strong negotiation and coordination skills
