Location: India (Remote)

Function: Engineering – Product Engineering

Reports to: Engineering Manager – Product Engineering

About the Role

We are looking for a Software Development Engineer III to join our Core Platform Team. This team is responsible for designing and scaling the foundational systems that power all our AI-driven products—from secure authentication and configuration engines to core services like logging, feature management, and real-time orchestration.

You’ll work alongside experienced engineers to build modular, high-performance backend systems that are critical to uptime, compliance, and scalability across the company. This is a hands-on role ideal for engineers looking to grow their impact while working on production infrastructure used by every product team.

What You’ll Do

  • Design and build high-availability, low-latency services powering AI-based voice and digital agents
  • Contribute to the orchestration logic that handles tool invocation, conversational memory, session management, and multi-turn logic
  • Integrate backend systems with AI components such as language models, speech pipelines, and structured data sources
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including ML, product, compliance, and UX to deliver intelligent and trustworthy user experiences
  • Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks, reliability issues, and system-wide scalability challenges
  • Participate in design and architecture reviews, and mentor junior engineers across the team
  • Uphold engineering excellence through strong documentation, testing, observability, and DevOps practices

What You’ll Bring

  • 5+ years of experience in backend engineering, ideally working on real-time or user-facing platforms
  • Strong backend programming skills like Java, Node.JS, or similar, with deep understanding of asynchronous programming and system design
  • Proven experience building and scaling distributed services, APIs, and event-driven systems
  • Familiarity with infrastructure tools such as Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines
  • Experience integrating services with data stores, message queues, and external APIs

Bonus Points:

  • Experience working on AI-enabled or ML-integrated platforms
  • Understanding of compliance, security, and auditability requirements in regulated environments
  • Prior experience working in fast-paced, high-growth product teams
