Anesthesiologist

Job Summary

The Anesthesiologist is responsible for administering anesthesia to patients undergoing surgical, diagnostic, or therapeutic procedures. The role involves pre-operative assessment, intra-operative patient monitoring, post-operative pain management, and critical care support to ensure patient safety and comfort.

Key Responsibilities

• Pre-operative Care
  • Conduct patient evaluations (medical history, physical examination).
  • Assess anesthesia risks and obtain informed consent.
  • Order and review diagnostic tests.
  • Develop individualized anesthesia plans.
• Intra-operative Care
  • Administer general, regional, or local anesthesia.
  • Monitor vital signs (heart rate, blood pressure, oxygen levels).
  • Manage airway and ventilation.
  • Respond to emergencies and complications.
• Post-operative Care
  • Monitor patients in recovery room (PACU).
  • Manage post-operative pain relief.
  • Address anesthesia-related complications.
  • Provide discharge instructions regarding anesthesia recovery.
• Critical & Emergency Care
  • Provide airway management in emergency cases.
  • Participate in code blue and trauma response teams.
  • Assist in ICU patient management (if applicable).
• Documentation & Compliance
  • Maintain accurate medical records.
  • Follow hospital safety protocols and guidelines.
  • Ensure compliance with medical laws and accreditation standards.

Qualifications & Requirements

• MBBS / MD / DO degree.
• Postgraduate qualification in Anesthesiology (MD/DNB/DA or equivalent).
• Valid medical license.
• Board certification (preferred).
• ACLS, BLS certification.
