Position: Quality Head-QA & QC-ORS

Job Location: Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh

Reporting to: 

Qualification: Bachelor’s or master’s degree in food technology, Microbiology, or related fields.Experience: 5 to 8 years of experience in QA within food or pharmaceutical manufacturing, with exposure to greenfield projects.

Job Summary: 

We are looking for a detail-oriented and compliance-driven Quality Assurance Manager/Quality Control Manager to lead the QA/QC function at our greenfield ORS (Oral Rehydration Salts) manufacturing facility. The role demands hands-on experience in SOP creation, documentation systems, and quality setup from scratch – ensuring all operations meet food safety, regulatory, and audit ready standards from day one.

Key Responsibilities of Quality Assurance Manager :

  • Design and implement the QA framework for a greenfield plant, including the development of SOPs, batch records, and food safety plans.

  • Establish robust document control systems to manage quality manuals, deviation logs, and CAPA records.

  • Ensure full compliance with FSSAI, GMP, HACCP, ISO 22000, and internal quality benchmarks.

  • Oversee quality checks across raw material receipt, in-process monitoring, and finished product verification.

  • Coordinate project and operations teams to embed quality controls during plant commissioning.

  • Prepare the facility for external certifications, regulatory inspections, and internal audits.

  • Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective/preventive actions for product or process deviations.

  • Train staff in new SOPs, hygiene standards, and critical control points aligned with ORS product safety.

Key Responsibilities of Quality Control Manager: 

  • Communicate with staff/team members of both Chemical and Microbiological sections to set and achieve goals, projects, and operations.
  • To review and approval of documentation like SOP, STP, Specification, Qualification

  • Calibration and maintenance of laboratory equipment’s

  • To follow entry/exit procedure in organization as per Organization Policy / SOP.

  • Coordination with R&D for new Projects and communicate with cross functional

  • departments and plan to completed in timely manner.

  • Ensure that all department staff adhere to company policies, procedures, health and safety regulations, and other relevant standards.

  • Involve and investigate OOS, OOT, OOC, incident, Deviation, Change control, CAPA and Market Complaints etc.

  • Set key performance indicators (KPIs), conduct performance reviews, and address any issues or grievances to improve departmental performance.

  • Assist in the recruitment, hiring, and onboarding of new staff members.

  • To approve and monitor any contract analysts if necessary.

  • Organize training sessions and provide ongoing guidance to improve the technical skills and professional development of department staff.

  • Build and maintain productive relationships with clients and external partners to support new business development and expand the organization

  • Provide regular reports to upper management on department performance and other relevant metrics.

  • Ensuring that a timely and effective communication to raise quality issues to the appropriate levels of management.

  • Identify areas for improvement within the department's processes and implement new methods and technologies to enhance efficiency.

  • Build and maintain productive relationships with clients and external partners to support new business development and expand the organization

  • In addition to the above responsibilities, Responsible for any other work assigned by the management /Director.

 

Skills & Competencies: 

  • Strong expertise in SOP writing, documentation control, and quality system setup. 

  • Deep understanding of FSSAI guidelines, microbiological protocols, and regulatory inspection preparedness.

  • Ability to work cross-functionally with R&D, production, and project engineering during plant setup

Preferred Background: 

  • Experience in greenfield factory installations, especially ORS, nutraceuticals, or beverage lines.

Working Conditions: 

  • Full-time, on-site role at Bhopal plant.

  • Requires cross-functional collaboration during plant establishment and scale-up.
