MUFG Global Service:

Established in 2019, MUFG Global Services (MGS) is 100% subsidiary of MUFG Bank Ltd having offices in Bengaluru and Mumbai. MGS has been set up as a Global Capability Centre / Centre of Excellence to provide support services across various functions such as IT, KYC/ AML, Credit, Operations etc. to MUFG Bank offices globally. With a current headcount of around 1000 employees, MGS has plans to significantly ramp-up its growth over the next 18-24 months while servicing MUFGs global network across Americas, EMEA and Asia Pacific.

About the Role:

Position Title: Team Lead, Global Financial Crimes Division (GFCD) Issues Management (IM) Data Management Team

Job Profile:

Purpose of Role:

The Team Lead role in the GFCD IM Data Management Team of MUFG Bank, Ltd. will be part of the GFCD IM Operations team and will report to the Vice President, Compliance IM Data Management. The Team Lead is expected to have excellent communication skills and will be responsible for managing the Global Utility IM Data Management Analysts, act as a process expert in the management of issues across compliance, coordinate implementation and execution of the GFCD IM standard and procedures across MUFGs global network, drive initiatives that promote on-time issue remediation, and support risk management activities related to the Banks global financial crimes policies, standards, and procedures.

The Qualified Candidate will:

  • Manage issues across compliance
  • Gain familiarity with the MUFG compliance framework, including the roles of Internal Audit and Compliance Testing.
  • Develop an understanding of global Anti-Money Laundering (AML), Sanctions, and Anti-Bribery & Corruption (ABC) regulatory regimes.
  • Develop subject matter expertise regarding IM policy, standard, and procedures.
  • Develop partnerships with stakeholders across geographies to drive implementation of end-to-end issues management processes and procedures.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Manage and supervise the IM Data Management Analysts in MGS daily.
  • Provide support and oversight into the IM Data Management Utility activities across regions.
  • Train IM Data Management Analysts on GFCD IM process and procedures.
  • Advise on issues management requirements, working closely with Issue stakeholders such as Regional Issue Coordinators, Issue Owners, Risk Managers, Action Owners, Compliance Testing, and Internal Audit.
  • Manage issue data in the GFCD IM Database, including issue record data entry, review, update, and monitoring according to required timeframes and protocols.
  • Perform issue reporting activities and prepare reports.
  • Review data, analyze data quality, determine process trends or systemic issues, deliver actionable recommendations, and drive necessary actions.
  • Identify and implement process enhancements and alignment opportunities to GFCD IM Standard and Procedural updates.
  • Drive process improvement opportunities across the Department and across functions.
  • Lead or provide support on special projects and ad-hoc activities.

  • Prior supervisory experience preferred
