The Country Head of Sales is responsible for strategic and tactical oversight of all sales activities to ensure that the company objectives are accomplished. This position will get results through outstanding leadership skills, consistently fostering and supporting a culture of continuous improvement, with an eye on reaching optimum performance on an individual and team basis.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Foster Company Growth
- Manage and oversee the sales teams in order to achieve the company’s targeted objectives.
- Focus on driving new business through close collaboration with all sales resources, product, and other relevant departments.
- Develop and/or collaborate on strategic and tactical sales plans.
- Analyze sales statistics to determine growth potential.
- Ensure the company’s Sales Policy is being upheld.
- Seek out and target potential new business opportunities.
- Initiate and/or develop relationships with key clients.
- Represent the company at conferences, network events and trade missions at home and abroad.
Sales Team Administration
- Collaborate to ensure sales staffing is sufficient to meet company objectives.
- Maintain staffing by sourcing and collaborating regarding qualified candidates for employment.
- Maintain staffing levels by overseeing orientation, training, and motivation of the regional sales team.
- Host or attend regular sales meetings to review analyze, train and collaborate with the Regional and/or Local sales team to assist them in meeting targeted objectives.
- Accompany sales team members on high-level client sales visits.
- Complete other duties as directed.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Conduct performance evaluation for direct reports
- Responsible for all hiring, firing and promotion of assigned staff
- Identify and resolve personnel issues
- Ongoing coaching and mentoring of staff to develop skills to the highest level
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Able to perform the essential duties of this position without posing a “direct threat” to the health or safety of self or others.
- Able to interact positively and effectively with co-workers, subordinates and supervisors.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
- HS Diploma or equivalent required, College degree is preferred
- Minimum 5 years in Sales / Management with proven leadership ability to influence, develop and empower employees
