FINANCE AGM – Job Profile
1. Role Overview
The Assistant General Manager – Finance (AGM – Finance) role responsible for managing the financial operations of the organization, ensuring strong internal controls, statutory compliance, accurate financial reporting, and strategic financial planning. This role acts as a bridge between senior management and various finance sub‑functions to drive process excellence, governance, and business support.
2. Key Responsibilities
A. Financial Reporting & MIS
- Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual closing in SAP/ERP within timelines.
- Review and validate MIS reports, financial statements, variance analysis & management dashboards.
- Ensure compliance with Ind AS, Companies Act, and corporate accounting policies.
- Supervise GL scrutiny, books finalization, and ledger hygiene.
B. Budgeting, Forecasting & Cost Control
- Drive annual budgeting, rolling forecasts, and performance tracking.
- Support management in decision-making with financial models and scenario analysis.
C. Audits & Compliance
- Lead Statutory, Internal & Tax audits.
- Ensure compliance with:
- Income Tax Act (including TDS, advance tax, Form 26AS reconciliation)
- Tax Audit
- Secretarial compliance
- Coordinate with auditors, provide schedules, and drive closure of audit observations.
D. Working Capital, Treasury & Banking
- Oversee cash flow planning, fund allocation, and optimum working capital utilization.
- Manage banking operations: LC/BG issuance, bank reconciliations, fund transfers & treasury reporting.
E. SAP / ERP Finance Operations
- Drive system-based controls and minimize manual interventions.
- Lead improvements in SAP FICO, MI Portal, Invoice Mart, workflow approvals, etc.
- Ensure adherence to:
- RPT SOP in SAP
- Asset Capitalization SOP in SAP
F. Asset Management & Capitalization
- Ensure timely capitalization of CWIP & fixed assets as per Ind AS 16.
- Review supporting documents, trial run reports, commissioning certificates, and depreciation workings.
I. Leadership & Team Management
- Lead and mentor the finance team with a focus on ownership, discipline, and capability building.
- Promote process-driven culture and cross-functional alignment with Purchase, Stores, Projects, Production & HR teams.
3. Key Skills & Competencies
- Strong analytical & problem‑solving skills
- Expertise in SAP FICO, Excel and finance automation tools
- Deep knowledge of Ind AS, GST, Income Tax, Companies Act
- Ability to work under pressure and deliver within deadlines
- Process orientation and automation mindset
4. Educational Qualifications
- CA
- 10–15 years of experience in Finance, preferably in manufacturing, listed companies, or large corporates.
