Senior Engineering Development Lead (Production)

1. Production Engineering Department Head
• Explore avenues to reduce cost by substitution and or engineering of parts and components (Electronic, Electrical & Mechanical Parts).
• Design and Development of Non-Standard / Special / Customized requirement of Projects (Electronic, Electrical & Mechanical Parts) & timely completion of assigned projects within the approved project budget and contract conditions ensuring high quality deliverables and customer satisfaction.
• Design, Development & Maintenance of Tools, Jigs, Fixtures & Test Equipment in the Manufacturing Area.
• Co-ordinate with CMM (Purchasing) for New Vendor Development & Periodical Assessment of Vendors.
• Development of Panel Engineering Drawings (Masters) & Templates using engineering tools such as ePLAN.
• Development of ACAD Drawings for Panel Internal Components / Accessories (Screen Printing, Acrylic Sheet, Bus Bars, etc.,)
• Finalization of Capital Goods Requirement and preparation of Annual Budget of CG, Maintenance and Operation Expenses in co-ordination with Manufacturing & QA.

Responsibilities:

• Fully responsible for Design & Development of DCS Panels, Consoles, Parts & Components (Electronic, Electrical & Mechanical Parts) to meet FY targets provided by the management through :
• Development of Standard or Non-Standard Panels, Consoles & Parts (Electronic, Electrical & Mechanical Parts) for all System BU/ GDCI/other BU Projects with 100% on time delivery as per master schedule of each project.
• Ensure compliance to QMS and J-Sox
• Design & Process Improvements or alternate solutions for cost reduction of products.
• Monthly management of 100% Manpower utilisation and absorption for Projects.
• Accurate TMS entry & compliance
• Compliance to applicable QHSE policies.
• Maintenance of Tools, jigs, Fixtures & Test Equipment in the Manufacturing Area.
• Optimise Panel Engineering time cost below target using E Plan & Standarisation to meet MTBP targets.
• Intervene whenever issues crop up & timely escalation to Management.
• Ensure deviation control of Drawings & Documents.
• Continuous improvement & PDCA
• Conflict management – internal & external stake holders.
• Department General Expense Management to reduce FY COS targets
• Ensure customer satisafction through better qualtiy panels/consoles.
• Compliance to company workflows (applicable to ENG-BU and cross-functional with other Dept/ Div) and Policies and enforcement of the same among the department staff.
• Support Manufacturing Head and Production planning for monthly deviation control & management
• Prioritization of various Department / Project requirement with due consideration of Customer and/or internal requirements.
• Mentoring the department staff through regular guidance and strong leadership.
• Training needs analysis and implementation of career development plan for department staff.

Qualification, Experience & Competencies

• Qualification: B.E.,/M.E., in Electrical/Electronics/Instrumentation with 15-20 Yrs experience in Design & Development function.
• Experience in Instrumentation/Electrical Panel Industry preferred.
• Delivering Main Goals of Design and Development, Cost and customer satisfaction, meeting various special project requirement within the budget and quality.
• Ability to translate organization vision into a project vision.
• Creating and implementing Project Engineering Strategies for successful cost reduction.
• Understanding the business and its profitability and ensuring business and revenue opportunities are not missed.
• Engineering analysis and improvement techniques.
• Close monitoring of department staff performance and recording of appreciation or areas for improvement within defined time frame.
