Job Description:

Carrefour, a leading global retailer, is seeking a dynamic Senior Merchandiser to strengthen our Global Sourcing operations in the Textile sector. In this role, you will lead end-to-end merchandising activities including product development, supplier management, and order execution while ensuring alignment with Carrefour’s commercial, quality, and sustainability standards.

As a key member of the sourcing organization, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams and suppliers to deliver high-quality textile products at competitive cost while maintaining on-time delivery and operational excellence. This role offers an opportunity to influence sourcing strategy, supplier partnerships, and product development within Carrefour’s global textile supply chain.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify and source suitable suppliers and factories capable of delivering products aligned with business requirements and commercial targets.
  • Evaluate suppliers based on category priorities, capacity, compliance standards, and quality performance.
  • Guide suppliers in product development according to technical specifications, design requirements, and aesthetic standards from business units.
  • Collect and analyze market intelligence from suppliers to identify trends and support product innovation.
  • Ensure timely submission of product samples and quotations to business units.
  • Conduct price negotiations using open costing models, challenging key cost drivers such as fabric consumption, CM, trims, and overheads.
  • Support order allocation through capacity planning, quantity forecasting, and supplier capability assessment.
  • Manage the full order execution process from development approval to shipment readiness.
  • Coordinate with quality and supply chain teams to resolve production, quality, and shipment challenges.
  • Ensure product packaging, labeling, and marketing presentation comply with business unit requirements.
  • Maintain strong relationships with internal teams and external partners to ensure alignment on product development and delivery objectives.
  • Maintain accurate documentation, reporting, and data management in line with company procedures.
  • Participate in sourcing initiatives and continuous improvement projects to enhance sourcing efficiency and supplier performance.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 8-12 years of experience in merchandising, sourcing, or apparel supply chain management.
  • Strong experience in textile or apparel sourcing, preferably within global retail or buying office environments.
  • Proven ability to manage product development, supplier relationships, and order execution.
  • Strong negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in cross-functional and multicultural environments.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and merchandising systems.
  • Knowledge of textile product development, costing structures, and supply chain processes.
