Job Description:

JD – Robotics Systems Engineer

Location: Pune

Experience: 5-8 years

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, Robotics, or related engineering field.

Employment Type: Full-time

Reports To: CEO

About the Company:

We founded Sakar Robotics to collapse fragmented point solutions into a single extensible mobile manipulation platform. Traditional automation requires bespoke integration per workflow—slow to deploy, rigid to evolve. We built a composable stack where perception, autonomy, manipulation and orchestration cooperate natively.

Guided by field feedback across regulated, high‑mix and throughput‑critical domains, we iterate on production reality—not lab abstractions—building durable leverage for customers.

Our mission is to deliver a unified robotics platform that can be rapidly configured to execute diverse workflows—reducing time‑to‑value, elevating safety, and embedding continuous improvement loops into daily operations.

Key Responsibilities:

Own end-to-end hardware and electronics architecture for AMR platforms

Lead integration of motors, motor controllers, batteries, sensors, and safety systems

Act as system-level owner bridging mechanics, electronics, and robotics software

Support autonomy stack integration (ROS/ROS2), sensor bring-up, and tuning

Oversee prototype bring-up, debugging, field testing, and validation

Define electrical schematics, wiring architecture, and interface documentation

Coordinate with software, mechanical, and autonomy teams for seamless integration

Guide component selection, vendor interaction, and technical reviews

Mentor team members and drive engineering best practices

 Must-Have Skills:

Hands-on experience in robotics system integration (AMR / AGV / mobile robots)

Strong knowledge of electronics hardware, motor control, power systems, and sensors

Experience with robotics software stacks (ROS/ROS2) and autonomy integration

Understanding of embedded systems, communication protocols (CAN, UART, SPI, I2C)

Ability to debug real-world robotics issues involving mechanics, electronics, and software

Experience in bringing up robots from prototype to field-ready state

Good-to-Have Skills:

Experience with outdoor robots and unstructured terrain navigation

Knowledge of SLAM, localization, sensor fusion, and navigation concepts

Embedded firmware development or tuning experience

Familiarity with robotics safety standards and field deployment practices

Experience with simulation, testing frameworks, or HIL/SIL setups

Soft Skills:

     Strong communication and coordination

     Ownership and accountability

     Problem-solving and proactive approach

     Adaptability in a fast-paced environment

     Team collaboration and positive attitude
