Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Academic Mentor to join our Integrated School Residential Program in Trivandrum. The Academic Mentor will stay on campus and play a key role in guiding students academically, emotionally, and personally. This role involves close interaction with students, coordination with teachers and parents, and active participation in students’ daily routines to ensure holistic development.

Key Responsibilities

1. Student Mentorship & Residential Support

  • Stay in the hostel with students and provide continuous academic and personal guidance.
  • Build strong, trusting relationships with assigned students and act as their primary mentor.
  • Support students in daily routines, discipline, time management, and study habits.
  • Address student concerns, emotional needs, and minor behavioral issues with empathy and responsibility.

2. Academic Monitoring & Support

  • Track students’ academic progress, attendance, and classroom engagement.
  • Conduct informal assessments to monitor learning outcomes.
  • Coordinate with subject teachers to identify learning gaps and implement academic support plans.
  • Assist students with exam preparation, revisions, and goal setting.

3. Integrated School Program Coordination

  • Support the implementation of the integrated curriculum through academic and residential activities.
  • Organize and supervise study hours, enrichment sessions, and co-curricular activities.
  • Maintain a disciplined, safe, and supportive learning environment within the hostel.

4. Parent & Stakeholder Communication

  • Maintain regular communication with parents/guardians regarding student progress and well-being.
  • Participate in parent meetings and provide structured feedback and improvement strategies.
  • Address parent concerns in coordination with academic and school leadership teams.

5. Data Management & Reporting (MIS)

  • Maintain accurate and confidential student records including academics, attendance, and behavior.
  • Update student data using MIS tools and generate periodic performance reports.
  • Support internal academic reviews and planning through timely documentation.

Eligibility & Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree (Education or relevant field preferred).
  • Willingness to work in a residential school environment and stay in the hostel with students.
  • Strong mentoring, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to guide adolescents with empathy, structure, and accountability.
  • Basic computer skills and familiarity with MIS/reporting tools is an added advantage.
