Job Description:

We are looking for an experienced IBM iSeries (AS/400) RPGLE Developer to design, develop, and maintain enterprise applications supporting transactional and batch processing systems. The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in RPGLE development, DB2 for iSeries, SQL400, and experience in troubleshooting production systems and optimizing application performance.

Key Responsibilities:

Design, develop, and maintain RPG/RPGLE programs and CLLE jobs on IBM iSeries (AS/400) platform.

Develop and optimize SQL400 queries and DB2 for iSeries database objects including files, tables, and stored procedures.

Troubleshoot production issues, perform root-cause analysis, and implement reliable fixes.

Develop and enhance interfaces, APIs, and service programs for system integrations.

Participate in code reviews, testing, and deployment activities following change management processes.

Improve application performance by optimizing program logic, database queries, and batch processing.

Work closely with business analysts, QA teams, and operations teams to deliver high-quality solutions.

Prepare and maintain technical documentation and support knowledge sharing within the team.

Mentor junior developers and support modernization initiatives.

Must Have Skills:

Strong experience in IBM iSeries (AS/400) development

Expertise in RPGLE, RPG III/IV

Experience with CLLE programming

Strong knowledge of DB2 for iSeries

Hands-on experience with SQL400

Experience in production support and troubleshooting

Preferred Skills:

Experience with IBM Rational Developer for i (RDi) or similar IDE

Exposure to REST APIs, service programs, and system integrations

Knowledge of application modernization practices on IBM iSeries
