Role Overview

Medanta Homecare is seeking an experienced and dynamic Assistant Head Nurse to lead and manage the nursing team delivering care in home settings. This role is pivotal in ensuring high-quality patient care, efficient team management, and smooth coordination.

The Assistant Head Nurse will be responsible for workforce planning, rostering, quality audits, and field-level supervision. The role requires a balance of operational leadership and on-ground involvement, including periodic home visits for reassessments and quality checks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and lead a team of homecare nurses, ensuring high standards of clinical care and patient satisfaction.
  • Plan, manage, and optimize nurse rosters, shifts, and leave schedules to ensure uninterrupted service delivery.
  • Monitor staff performance, provide guidance, and support training and development initiatives.
  • Conduct periodic field visits for patient reassessments, clinical audits, and quality checks.
  • Ensure adherence to clinical protocols, infection control practices, and organizational standards across all homecare services.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for resolving escalations related to patient care and nursing services.
  • Coordinate closely with doctors, therapists, care coordinators, and other stakeholders for seamless service delivery.
  • Manage and oversee vendor relationships, including onboarding, performance monitoring, and compliance of outsourced nursing staff.
  • Ensure proper documentation, reporting, and maintenance of patient records and operational data.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance care quality, operational efficiency, and patient experience.

Requirements & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (B.Sc. Nursing / GNM); Master’s degree preferred.
  • Valid nursing registration with State Nursing Council.
  • Minimum 5–8 years of nursing experience, with at least 2–3 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
  • Prior experience in homecare or hospital will be an added advantage.
  • Strong leadership, team management, and decision-making skills.
  • Exposure to vendor management and stakeholder coordination preferred.
  • Willingness to travel within the city for field visits and audits.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
