Role Overview

We are seeking a proactive and technically strong Azure L1 Consultant to support cloud operations and incident management across Azure environments. The ideal candidate will have a solid foundation in Azure services, strong troubleshooting skills, and the ability to manage service requests within defined SLAs.

Key Responsibilities

1. Incident & Service Request Management

  • Handle L1/L2 support tickets related to Azure services
  • Perform troubleshooting and basic root cause analysis
  • Ensure timely resolution in line with SLA commitments
  • Escalate complex issues to L2/L3 teams or Microsoft support when required
  • Maintain accurate documentation of incidents and resolutions

2. Core Azure Fundamentals

  • Understanding of Azure global infrastructure (regions, availability zones)
  • Manage Resource Groups, Subscriptions, and Management Groups
  • Work with Azure Resource Manager (ARM) deployments
  • Use Azure Portal, CLI, and PowerShell for operations
  • Monitor Azure Service Health and Resource Health

3. Identity & Access Management

  • Manage Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD) basics
  • Handle Users, Groups, Service Principals, Managed Identities
  • Implement Role-Based Access Control (RBAC)
  • Support Privileged Identity Management (PIM)
  • Troubleshoot MFA and basic Conditional Access issues

4. Networking

  • Manage Virtual Networks (VNet) and Subnets
  • Understand IP addressing and CIDR
  • Configure NSGs and User Defined Routes
  • Support Azure Load Balancer & Application Gateway (basic concepts)
  • Work with Azure Firewall rules and VPN Gateway
  • Basic understanding of ExpressRoute
  • Manage Private Endpoints and DNS Zones
  • Use Azure Bastion for secure access

5. Compute, Storage & Platform Support

  • Support Azure VM and compute-related issues
  • Troubleshoot storage-related problems
  • Assist in backup and disaster recovery operations

6. Automation & Platform

  • Troubleshoot ARM/Bicep deployment issues
  • Handle Terraform state lock issues (basic awareness)
  • Support automation runbooks
  • Resolve managed identity permission issues

7. Security & Governance

  • Support infrastructure-level security practices
  • Assist in governance and cost management activities
  • Monitor compliance with organizational policies

8. Documentation & Collaboration

  • Maintain detailed documentation of incidents and resolutions
  • Ensure proper shift handovers with complete logs
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams for issue resolution

Required Skills & Competencies

  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Azure services
  • Good troubleshooting and analytical skills
  • Basic scripting knowledge (PowerShell / CLI preferred)
  • Understanding of cloud networking fundamentals
  • Familiarity with ticketing tools and SLA-driven environments
  • Good communication and stakeholder management skills
