Job Title: Manager – Admissions (Kerala Region)

Reporting to: Head – Admissions

Job Location: Kerala (Field Role)

Roles and Responsibilities:

1. Regional Outreach & Strategy

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive student outreach strategy specifically for the Kerala market to meet enrollment targets.
  • Leverage deep cultural knowledge of Kerala to tailor messaging and counseling approaches for students and parents.
  • Identify high-potential districts, schools, and junior colleges for focused recruitment drives.
  • Track and analyze regional education trends, competitor activities, and parent preferences.
  • Prepare weekly and monthly reports on lead generation, conversion rates, and market feedback.

2. Student & Parent Counseling

  • Conduct personalized counseling sessions in fluent Malayalam and English to guide students toward the right academic programs.
  • Address queries regarding course curricula, placements, scholarships, and campus life at GITAM's campuses (Visakhapatnam, Hyderabad, Bengaluru).
  • Organize and lead parent meetings to build trust and clarify the value proposition of a GITAM degree.
  • Guide students through the application, document verification, and admission confirmation process.

3. School & Channel Partner Relationship

  • Build and nurture long-term relationships with Principals, Career Counselors, and Teachers across Kerala.
  • Manage and train a network of channel partners (educational consultants and agents) to ensure quality lead generation.
  • Coordinate with schools to schedule career fairs, seminars, and campus visits.
  • Monitor partner performance and ensure compliance with university admission policies.

4. Events & Seminars

  • Plan and execute outreach events including school assemblies, educational exhibitions, and town-hall style counseling sessions in major Kerala cities (TVM, Kochi, Kozhikode, Thrissur, etc.).
  • Represent GITAM at state-level educational fairs and higher education summits.
  • Coordinate with the central marketing team to ensure availability of Malayalam collateral and region-specific messaging.

5. Documentation & Compliance

  • Maintain detailed records of all student interactions, applications, and follow-ups in the university CRM.
  • Ensure all admissions documentation complies with university guidelines and statutory requirements.
  • Support students with visa documentation (if applicable) and pre-arrival formalities.

6. Market Intelligence & Feedback

  • Gather feedback from students and parents regarding program preferences, fee structures, and concerns.
  • Provide regular inputs to the central admissions team on pricing, scholarship adjustments, and new program launches suited for Kerala students.
  • Monitor regional entrance exam trends (KEAM, etc.) and align outreach efforts accordingly.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Lead digital outreach initiatives for the Kerala region, including Malayalam webinars and social media engagement.
  • Coordinate with the alumni team to involve GITAM alumni based in Kerala for testimonials and networking events.
  • Support the central team during peak admission seasons with on-ground helpdesk management at strategic locations.
  • Conduct training sessions for new team members or channel partners on GITAM's program offerings and admission processes.
  • Assist in the onboarding process for admitted students, ensuring a smooth transition from enrollment to campus arrival.
  • Represent the university at government and educational policy forums within the state.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree (any discipline); MBA preferred.
  • Experience: 6–12 years of experience in student recruitment, educational counseling, or regional sales within the education sector.
  • Language: Must be a native Malayalam speaker with fluency in English and Hindi (desirable).
  • Regional Knowledge: Deep understanding of Kerala's academic calendar, syllabus patterns (State/CBSE/ICSE), and cultural sensitivities.
  • Track Record: Proven track record of achieving enrollment targets in the Kerala region.
  • Soft Skills: Excellent interpersonal, presentation, and negotiation skills.
  • Travel: Willingness to travel extensively across Kerala.
