    Job Description

    A. Strategic & Business Leadership

  • Lead the regional strategic roadmap for the Power Generation business, ensuring alignment with investor expectations and long-term energy transition goals.
  • Design business strategies for capacity expansion, portfolio diversification, and operational scalability.
  • Drive M&A assessments, technical due diligence, and integration for new assets or acquisitions.
  • Evaluate new market opportunities, including renewables, hybrid systems, storage, repowering, and distributed generation.
  • Translate board directives into actionable operational plans with clear KPIs and timelines.
  • B. Operational Excellence & Performance Management

  • Oversee the operational performance of all power plants in the region -solar, wind, BESS or others.
  • Drive performance improvement programs: cost efficiency, reliability improvement, and digital transformation.
  • Implement global-best operational processes, predictive maintenance, and centralized monitoring systems.
  • Introduce KPIs and operational scorecards for site teams, engineering teams, and regional leadership.
  • Manage contractor performance, SLAs, and OEM relationships for turbines, inverters, and plant systems.
  • C. Project Development & Execution Leadership

  • Lead end-to-end execution for new greenfield and brownfield projects – planning, permitting, EPC selection, engineering, procurement, and commissioning.
  • Establish project governance frameworks to ensure time, cost, and quality targets are met.
  • Drive coordination across engineering, procurement, land acquisition, external consultants, and OEM providers.
  • D. Investor, Board & International Stakeholder Management

  • Act as the primary operational interface for global investors, PE funds, and strategic partners.
  • Prepare board-level dashboards: operational metrics, risk summaries, ESG performance, and expansion pipeline.
  • E. ESG, Sustainability & Compliance

  • Lead the company’s commitment to ESG principles, ensuring full alignment with international sustainability standards.
  • Ensure environmental compliance, waste management, and emissions monitoring.
  • Drive community engagement programs and social impact initiatives near project sites.
  • F. Risk Management & Governance

  • Identify and mitigate risks across operations, projects, supply chain, and regulatory environments.
  • Develop robust internal controls, compliance processes, and decision‑making frameworks.
  • Implement cybersecurity and data protection measures for plant SCADA systems and digital platforms.
  • Oversee crisis management plans: grid failures, natural disasters, shutdowns, and regulatory challenges.
  • G. Commercial, Supply Chain & Financial Oversight

  • Optimize plant O&M costs, procurement rates, inventory, and vendor contracts.
  • Drive commercial excellence through renegotiation of EPC/O&M contracts and service agreements.
  • Ensure proper budgeting, forecasting, and control of operational and project expenditures.
  • H. Leadership, Culture & Organization Building

  • Build a high-performance organizational structure across the region – site leaders, engineering, HSE, project teams, and central ops.
  • Develop leadership capability and talent succession plan for critical roles.
  • Create a culture of accountability, collaboration, innovation, and safety.
  • The Successful Applicant

  • B. Tech in Electrical/Mechanical from a Tier 1 Engineering College with strong exposure to international investors or global energy companies.
  • 15+ years of experience with significant leadership in renewable or conventional power generation.
  • Project development or project execution background is preferred; asset management leaders who have managed projects in the past can be considered.
  • Proven track record in operational leadership roles within the renewable energy or related industry.
  • Comprehensive understanding of the renewable energy sector and its regulatory environment.
  • Excellent strategic planning and project management skills.
  • Ability to lead and inspire teams in a high-pressure environment.
  • Advanced negotiation, stakeholder, and partnership management.
  • Strong understanding of ESG frameworks and compliance.
  • Strong exposure to global best practices, sustainability frameworks, and emerging technologies.
  • Excellent communication, financial acumen, and stakeholder management skills.
