  • Good knowledge in free of optics, opto-electronics and Illumination optics.

  • Experience in design and development of Free form optics, Reflectors, Lens and Light guides for Interior & Exterior lighting systems.

  • Strong skills in design and development of backlight systems for Interior lighting applications.

  • Experience in optical simulations and calculations to determine the required illuminant and optical system as well as implementation in the product in collaboration with the construction.

  • Experience in LED selection and Power Budget calculations.

  • Knowledge in Color science, SDCM and ANSI standards

  • Knowledge in LED reliability studies, color stability, brightness correction, ageing correction.

  • Experience in thermal management for LED based Lighting systems.

  • Good Knowledge in Electronics fundamentals.

  • Fundamental knowledge in light source (LED) driving conditions and techniques.

  • Knowledge in electronics components selection and their functions.

  • Knowledge in schematic design and printed circuit boards (PCB) requirements.

  • Knowledge in simple electronics design for lighting applications.

  • Experience in LED modelling, ray tracing and operation regime.

  • Good understanding of Photometric & Radiometric quantities, formulae and conversions.

  • Hands on experience on optical equipment like Spectrometer, Spectro radiometer, Luminance meter, Lux meter, Gonio photometer… etc.

  • Knowledge of measuring methods to determine the light intensity, Luminance, color… etc.

  • Knowledge of optical components like grey filters, color filters, diffusers….etc.

  • Working experience on tools / equipments / knowledge required for optical testing and test set-up establishment.

  • Hands on experience in optical modeling / ray tracing software tools: Helios/ Light Tools/ TracePro

  • Hands-on experience in CAD software: CATIA V5, Solid Works

  • Additional Preferences:

  • Knowledge in writing small codes for testing automation will be preferred.

  • Knowledge in Lab View, Matlab and C.

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Optical Engineering
