About the Company

The Senior Manager / Deputy General Manager (Electrical) is responsible for leading and overseeing all electrical engineering activities for projects and operations. The role provides strategic technical leadership, ensures safe and reliable electrical systems, manages engineering teams, supports project execution and plant upgrades.

The Senior Manager / Deputy General Manager (Electrical) is responsible for leading and overseeing all electrical engineering activities for projects and operations. The role provides strategic technical leadership, ensures safe and reliable electrical systems, manages engineering teams, supports project execution and plant upgrades.

Responsibilities

  • Leadership & Management
  • Lead the electrical engineering function for cement plant, CPP/WHRS projects and operational support (if required).
  • Manage and mentor senior engineers, engineers and design team(s).
  • Coordinate with project management, process, mechanical and instrumentation teams.
  • Interface with vendors, consultants, OEMs and statutory authorities.

Engineering & Technical Oversight

  • Oversee detailed designing and review of electrical systems including:
  • HV, MV, and LV power distribution systems
  • Substations, transformers, switchgear, PCCs, intelligent MCCs
  • Motors, VFDs, soft starters and MV/LV drives
  • Lighting, earthing and lightning protection systems
  • Cable route & cable tray detailing
  • HT & LT cable engineering
  • Ensure compliance with IEC, IEEE, NEC, IS, and local electrical codes.
  • Review and approve key engineering deliverables, specifications and standards.

Project Execution & Support

  • Support greenfield, brownfield, and modernization/optimization projects.
  • Provide technical guidance during procurement, vendor evaluation and FAT.
  • Support site execution, commissioning and plant start-up activities.
  • Troubleshoot complex electrical issues impacting plant reliability.

  • Safety, Quality & Compliance
  • Ensure adherence to electrical safety standards and statutory requirements.
  • Participate in safety audits, HAZOP studies and risk assessments.
  • Drive best practices in electrical reliability, energy efficiency and power quality.

  • Strategic & Continuous Improvement
  • Support standardization of electrical designs across plants in projects.
  • Identify opportunities for optimization and cost reduction.
  • Contribute to long-term asset management and modernization strategies.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from reputed Engineering College.
  • 18+ years of experience in Cement Plant and 8+ years of experience in electrical engineering of Cement Plant, CPP/WHRS.
  • Proven leadership experience in maintenance and plant engineering environments.
  • Strong exposure to large-scale cement plant operations and projects.
  • Excellent leadership, communication and decision-making skills.
  • Strong knowledge of cement plant electrical systems and international standards.
  • Willingness to travel to project sites as required.

Required Skills

  • Electrical safety, reliability, or project management certifications.
