  • The work spans various development environments, including offshore, onshore, conventional, and unconventional settings, from exploration to development. The ideal candidate will effectively communicate with both the asset and research and development (R&D) teams to achieve technical objectives and meet deadlines.

Hiring Requirements

  • Key Responsibilities
  • Utilize Techlog to provide in-depth and technically robust multi-well petrophysical analyses, covering a broad spectrum of situations ranging from exploration to detailed field evaluations.
  • Collaborate with R&D and application developers to improve existing analysis tools in Techlog and create new workflows using Python and other programming languages.
  • Stay current with recommended logging tools and technologies to tackle intricate reservoir characterization issues, and periodically provide support for real-time and newly drilled wells.
  • Continuous collaboration with asset and exploration teams globally, delivering clear communication, prompt assistance, and expert knowledge.

Required Qualifications

  • BS or MSc degree in Earth Science or Petroleum Engineering
  • At least 10 years of industry experience specializing in petrophysical interpretation.
  • Expertise in numerous industry-standard techniques for log evaluation, core and log integration, mineralogy analysis, shaly sands, and saturation height functions
  • Deep knowledge of processing and quality control workflows for wireline and LWD (logging while drilling) tools across multiple vendors (Sonic, NMR, image, formation testing) and ability to apply this knowledge to both new wells and legacy data.
  • Strong proficiency in developing and implementing petrophysical workflows using Techlog or similar petrophysical analysis software.
  • Ability to create, apply, and quality control probabilistic interpretations (QuantiElan, Multimin or equivalent) in multiple reservoir types and basins.
  • Adhere to global petrophysical standards and data management practices; contribute to and support data management initiatives.
  • Understanding of physical processes associated with earth science, reservoir modeling and subsurface
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to collaborate efficiently within a team.

  • Preferred Qualifications

  • SLB Techlog software – interpretation, analysis, and data management
  • Skills of using ML/AI to accelerate performance and accuracy of reservoir characterization
  • Experience in all or some of the following subspecialities are desirable: shale and tight/unconventional resource assessment, carbon capture assessment/monitoring, formation testing, geothermal and/ or acoustic rock properties analysis.
  • Experience across various basins and reservoir types

  • Selection Criteria 1

  • Job Knowledge/technical:

  • Extensive experience in petrophysical interpretation, with deep knowledge of well-logging technologies, including mineralogy, core/log integration, saturation height functions, NMR, and shaly sand analysis. Highly skilled in providing tailored solutions to minimize reservoir uncertainty.
  • Fluent in with probabilistic techniques such as ELAN or Multimin in multiple reservoir types and basins
  • Proven capability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting customer expectations and delivering timely and effective results.
  • Good working knowledge of interpretation in, and development of, Techlog workflows.
